(WHY?) Though constructed out of 100% polyester, as opposed to the 100% silk that makes up the Halston Heritage beauty; for $115.00, in comparison to the $325.00 price tag of the smoldering Halston number, it is every bit as perfect for helping a glamorous gal like yourself channel her inner Carrie Bradshaw – and at a price far more savory to the budget fashionista’s savings account!
Which role have you decided to undertake on this terrific Tuesday, kittens? Tightwad or spendthrift?
Fashionably yours!

I'm going for the spendy one today. Love the color!
ReplyDeletethey look SO MUCH alike...give me the cheaper version.
ReplyDeleteNow, I think the spendy version has better photography because the color looks richer, but I have a feeling they are the same in real life. I love a good Caftan. So relaxing yet chic.
ReplyDeleteThey look very much alike, so I'll opt for tightwad today. A nice summer look ...
ReplyDeleteOh that's the Carrie Bradshaw one!! I'd probably go all out & buy the real one because of the movie. I'm a sucker for movie stuff!!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! That was one of my faves from the movie...how is it possible that I want both right now haha
ReplyDeleteLOVE this glamorous pink number. i also think halston's version is *just a little* more fabulous....and am trying to talk myself out of adding it to my dress collection.
ReplyDeletexo,
sylvie of silver lining
Tightwad for SURE -- they're almost identical! Possibly the best find yet, my dear!

It might just be the angle in which the pictures were taken but I prefer the way the halston heritage falls!

Bikinis & Passports
The draping of the Halston Heritage one looks so perfect- I would dare not substitute it with the cheaper one, though that one is gorgeous as well. Sadly, neither of these is possible though. haha
ReplyDeleteWow, this is easily the best Tightwad Tuesday on your blog. Fab! :)
ReplyDeleteXx
I don't think I could pull that frock off, without looking goofy.
ReplyDeleteSay, I did have a question though... I'll be about 4 mo pregnant when I head out to a fun romance writers convention. Its professional, yet sassy individual style is encouraged. Oh, and its in Orlando Fl, in August. (Swollen feet here I come)
Any thoughts or suggestions on how to dress for comfort, with the baby bump, yet not look like a shclubby whale.
I think for this one I would save up for the Halson. The drape is much better and the upgrade from polyester is silk is probably worth it.
ReplyDeleteOne hundred percent would go for the steal! Nice find!
ReplyDeleteAnother perfect find! There are identical, I would go for the cheaper (again lol) for sure. Erika, this dress is like a blank slate for styling! I am already thinking of all the shoes and belts I would wear with it :)
ReplyDeletei would take the splurge one! i love that the halston heritage one is more drapy and comes with a more elegant look! i think the other one might be a little too jersey for me! but great pick! i love this dress!

a.
Gorgeous find, darling!
ReplyDeleteI forgot all about Singer22!
xoxox,

ERIKA!!! Why must you always tempt me with pink?? :)
ReplyDeleteMy pick is the Halston Heritage for sure. I have nothing against polyester, but something tells me that the glamourous effect would be taken down a few notches when compared to the silk piece.
ReplyDeleteOoh I loved this in Sex and the City; it is such a lovely dress. I bet it feels WONDERFUL to wear. I could see myself wearing it by myself. In my apartment. While eating ice cream. And watching lifetime. Haha. OR out doing something fabulous! =)
ReplyDeleteLove that color!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I loved this look in SATC2!! I would get a dress like that in a heartbeat, with the turban.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you and you mom enjoyed my Marilyn post! I want to get a dvd boxset or something soon, so hopefully there will be more of her on my blog!
I love them both!
ReplyDelete♥
This was my fav look of Carrie's in the movie! Did you see it yet? Though I was a tad disappointed and thought the first one was better, the fashion was top-notch.
ReplyDeleteFabulous find with the one from eDressMe!
xo, becs
p.s. do you want to exchange links? let me know! :)
I think all I saw was her head-dress in the movie..and I overlooked the dress. I'm always for the thrifty. We do evolve and well, have mishaps with what we wear. I'm so clumsy..so why bother with the real expensive.
ReplyDeleteI adore this look- I think I'd def get the eDressMe one. It's so chic!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been obsessing over this dress for a while and how great that you found a budget version! I love it!

I have to choose the tightwad version, but a bit leary about the polyester in the summertime, it can be so hot! Looks perfect though. This is a great series you do.
ReplyDeleteHope your week is off to a great start,
Mimi
I loved this dress on Carrie. Great cheaper find. :)
ReplyDeleteCool dress(es)!
ReplyDeletexoxo Sootjeelina <3

I just love this dress and would wear it in a heart beat. I also found the real one on Rent the Runway for only $50 (for 4 days)! xo
ReplyDeleteI pretty much swooning over every HH piece they featured in SATC 2!
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely take the one from eDressMe. Both dresses look so similar, so I'd rather save some cash! :)
ReplyDeleteLove them both! But, to save money, I would pick up the dress from eDressMe.
ReplyDeleteGreat pick as always Erica. Love the softness of the fabric and colour... Of course, as always, I would go for the cheaper version :)
ReplyDeleteI can't decide...what a quandry!
ReplyDeleteBoth are so pretty and elegant! I really don't know which one to chose. I think I'll have to settle with both.
ReplyDeleteso pretty! This would make a great birthday dress but I don't think I could get it in time :(
ReplyDeleteEven though I have not seen sex and the city 2 yet, as soon as I saw the picture I thought, Carrie Bradshaw. :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous dress & love your alternative as always!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is so Carrie... I love it. Splurge or otherwise, this dress is definitely a great buy. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this dress and of course since the cheap one looks like the pricey one, it's a steal!
ReplyDeletei'm gonna have to go with the tightwad. definitely picking the cheaper version! :)
ReplyDeleteThey look VERY similar! But since I love Halston I'd go for the spendy one this time (-:
ReplyDeleteThese are like dress twins!!! I am totally tightwadding it! ...but when do I not??
ReplyDeleteBoth of them are great but I have to go with the Halston Heratige on this one lol
ReplyDeleteCuuute! Once again, great find :)
ReplyDeletexoxo Maria
Its such a great knock off! So cool to know.
ReplyDeleteThis is SUCH a fabulous dress, I think if I had a little bit of money right now I wouldn't hesitate to spend it on the edress version. Sigh. LOVE!!
ReplyDeleteOT:
ReplyDeletewhen I was away for Memorial Day weekend, I saw a woman whose style reminded me so much of yours: her hairstyle, shades, smile, and yes, she even had on cowgirl boots you would have loved. Now if only I get to meet the "real you" in person! :)
Love the dresses. The tightwads rule of course :)
I adore the Halston Heritage dress and just don't think I could cheat on it with the look-alike... such a fabulous date dress though!
ReplyDeleteHello my love! This dress is so glamourous and elegant. I actually like the expensive one more, and it doesn't seem like it's too much more. So I will take one of the Halston Heritage dress please!!! :)
ReplyDeletexoxoxo
Rachel
those are like IDENTICAL! love it! :o)
ReplyDeleteToday's a day for the expensive one! It just glows more than the cheaper one does and we all want to dress like Carrie :)
ReplyDeleteThink that I'm gonna have to say that I'll stick to the Halston one -- I can never say "no" to 100% silk :) and it's such a pretty color!!
ReplyDeletenice comparison! as always! the colour is divine
ReplyDeleteif I can get something identical for less money, I'm gonna pick the cheaper version:)
ReplyDeleteThat Halston Heritage dress is to die for! xx
ReplyDeletehttp://www.weshopthereforeweare.co.uk/
That may be my favorite Halston Heritage I've seen...and what a great lookalike! xxSAS
ReplyDelete*gasp* i love this dress! I'd go for the real deal on this one :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm this becomes a battle of fabrics for me, being a sewing enthusiast. Haha. I'd go spendy :)
ReplyDeleteis this the fabulous one featured in sex and the city 2?
ReplyDeleteit's amazing
I'd go crazy for almost any piece of Halston Heritage...if my pocket book let me...
ReplyDeleteBoth of them are beautiful.Too beautiful to not have one of them.
