Tightwad Tuesday: Roberto Cavalli Side-Slit Dress for Less

Kitty cats, in the left corner we have Roberto Cavalli’s stunning Side-Slit Dress, the very same one seen gracing the form of Transformers star Megan Fox (LIKE); in the right corner feast your eyes upon ASOS’ Diamante Hoop Split Front Maxi Dress (TRY).

(WHY?) Though the ambrosial ASOS piece isn’t as…revealing as the chichi Cavalli creation; at just $76.09, in comparison to the over-$3,000.00 asking price of the foxy original, it allows the frugal fashionista to indulge in all three shades – navy, teal, and coral – without going over the limit of her beloved AmEx!

Which role have you decided to undertake on this terrific Tuesday, kittens? Tightwad or spendthrift?

Fashionably yours!

Thanks to ASOS for the picture.

  2. Is it blasphemy to say that the Asos dress is even prettier? I'm soooo going for thrifty today! xoxo

  3. I like the idea of a maxi dress, having a different look than we've been seeing. I remember back in the day when everyone was wearing maxi coats ... Wonder if they'll be making a comeback. I'll be frugal with this one, and go with the ASOS.

  5. as always, you manage to find the most perfect steals. I love the asos version just as much as the roberto cavalli but think the dress might be a little too daring for anyone not blessed with megan fox's physique :)

  8. I would love to see you in this dress! I know you don't like to post your own pictures but you would look beautiful in everything. But, the fact that you don't post pictures of yourself sets you apart from other fashion bloggers. I'm just rambling so don't mind me. La di da!

  13. Omg omg! This dress is sooooo Jessica Rabbit! hehehe, I love them both, I have no clue which one to pick...probably the cheaper one because I like them both so I guess I would be happy with it :)

  14. Meow! Both are outrageously sexy.

But it doesn't get any sexier than that Cavalli version. She looks amaaaaazing!

  18. the asos one doesn't quite measure up, so it'd have to be spendthrift for me!

  20. I really like this knock-off. And since you probably won't be going to a ball of some sort in it..this summer, I think this version would probably travel great too.

  35. ASOS, definitely. Megan looks really gorgeous in the other one though. I'm not sure I could pull off this style like she does!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think the ASOS dress is classier looking too. That slit on the Cavalli dress is just a little high for my taste! Besides Megan Fox is the one wearing it! :) Great find.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The ASOS is definitely a more realistic option, lol! The slit on Megan's is borderline Vegas showgirl!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I have to say that I do love Roberto Cavalli, Megan Fox just knows how to pull it off :)

    Kisses,
    Stephanie

  45. oh my gosh...I love the celebrity twist. Megan looks devastating in that dress, but for $3k, does that come with her providing press access to her next movie premier? if not, the ASOS dress would work just fine :)

thanks so much for the warm comments about my interview with Merina. glad you liked!!!

  46. I think the ASOS dress is more discreet - still sexy but not as over the top (-:

    ReplyDelete
  47. Frugal I am but If I could afford the real thing, I would get it! Beautiful dress! Great Post Erika!

    ReplyDelete
