Tightwad Tuesday: Elizabeth and James Luna Dress for Less

My loves, in the left corner we have Elizabeth and James’ lovely Luna Dress, the very same one seen on Hayden Panettiere when she appeared on MTV’s It’s On with Alexa Chung last year; in the right corner we have ASOS’ Bell Sleeve Shift Dress.

While ASOS’ Bell Sleeve beauty is crafted out of polyester, as opposed to the silk construction of the Elizabeth and James gem; for just $47.17, in comparison to the $345.00 asking price of it’s couture cousin, it is every bit as irresistible – and allows for the frugal fashionista to indulge in all three colors…pink, navy, and lime!

Which role have you decided to undertake on this terrific Tuesday, kittens? Tightwad or spendthrift?

Fashionably yours!

Thanks to Shopbop and ASOS for the pictures.

  3. I would go for ASOs, not too heavy
on my pocket. Love the nude color dress!

  11. Okay so admittedly I'm nowhere near spending $350 on a dress--don't get me wrong--but in this case I think the real deal is worth it. I like the peach color so much more than the pink of the Asos, and the E&J neckline is so much prettier.

  12. Beautiful dress! But I have to say I prefer the E&J version :)

  14. Such a great dress!! For this one I will have to go with the 'spensive one, just because I can't stand wearing polyester. Otherwise they look almost identical to me.

  15. I actually like the shade of pink of the E&J dress a lot better!

  18. I am learning how to sew because I just can't be bothered to spend tons of money on a dress so I'm going with the tightwad but neither one of those would look good on my body type. trilingualdiva.blogspot.com

  38. That dress (both of them!) is such a pretty color! Well, normally I'd pick the Elizabeth and James version however I'm feeling sort of guilty over my spending spree of yesterday (I couldn't help myself!) :/ so... Asos it is! It's still a pretty color... and maybe I'll check out the navy while I'm at it ;)

  39. In love with blushy light pinks lately. Especially paired with army green. Love this ASOS.
