Tightwad Tuesday: Isabel Marant Otway Studded Ankle Boots on a Budget

Darlings, to the left, prepare to salivate over Isabel Marant’s outrageously chic and futuristic Otway Studded Ankle Boots, the very same ones that caused a stir on the Fall 2009 runways and have been seen on the tootsies of AnnaLynne McCord, Lindsay Lohan, and Sienna Miller; to the right take a peek at Alloy’s tantalizing Trinity Bootie.

While Trinity sports a faux leather strap and faux suede upper, as opposed to the real suede and leather construction of the magnificent Marant’s; for just $42.90, in comparison to the $1,295.00 asking price of their haute couture counterparts, they are the perfect way to add a little edge to your demure look du jour – and allow for the buyer to indulge in both colors…black and gray!

Is today the day for you to please the big spender within; or will you play it cool and be thrifty?

Fashionably yours!

Thanks to WSJ and Alloy for the pictures.

  5. Beautiful! Especially since that heel is so iconic of Marant, I'd despaired of finding anything similar to these or to her Bardu boots!

  6. Wow!!! That's a big price difference! But I have to say, I like the "big spend" option better! The difference is in the details :)

  13. My boyfriend says that the cheaper ones look "sexier" or "more graceful." Haha. He's referring to the much thinner shaft :D

  19. These boots are SO FIERCE. If I owned any of them (most likely the cheaper one because while $1 295 IS very affordable...), I'd feel like a rock n' roll girl all the time.

  23. Although I do love the Isabel Marant boots just a tish more, I'd have to be thrifty and buy the Alloy shoes instead. LSU is sucking all the life (and the money) outta me. The $1,295 is almost a month's worth of work for me. Great find though. :)

  24. I honestly can't tell the difference between them from the photos. I'm sure the Isabel Marant are made of luxurious suede, while the Alloy weigh less than a few ounces because of the material, they really do look the same to me.

  28. The Isabelle ones look a bit more comfortable because the ankle opening is wider. It leaves more room to tuck bottoms in or to just have the loose look to them, which I love! The Alloy ones are just as cute though! :]

  29. I like the Alloy one's better! And oh my gosh, over $1200!! I could never spend that much money on shoes! No matter how fabulous! lol
