Though there’s no denying that the Forever 21 offering lacks the shimmering rhinestone detailing and silk construction of the irresistible Rebecca Taylor; for a mere $19.80, as opposed to the $345.00 asking price of its couture cousin, the nearly-identical pintuck pleats, self-tie waist, and six-button placket adorning the front provide the frugal fashionista with a similar style – at a far more budget-friendly price!
Your turn loves…will you be thrifty or suckered into putting on your spendthrift cap?
Fashionably yours!

WOW.....I totally love these kind of posts!!!
ReplyDeleteOf course its not a RT...but for the price.....you cant go wrong if you are looking for a similiar look....bravo!
The spendthrift one... but neither are my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteI happen to like the real deal with this one!
ReplyDeletexoxo
Love them all!
ReplyDelete♥
I have to admit I like the way the expensive one is made. Maybe I'll be inspired and find that style made out of Rayon..somewhere.. Really, a beautiful color.
ReplyDeleteForever 21 does not disappoint! I am going there tomorrow with the sister and mother. So excited now!
ReplyDeleteLOVE them both!! <3
ReplyDeleteI love both of them! Loving this kind of style for for fall!
ReplyDeleteI'm so getting the Forever 21 version of that tunic. I like the gauziness of it and it's just so awesome.
ReplyDeleteMight have to splurge on this one... I am a shopbop addict, as you know!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like JJ in Versace, darling :)

I can't help thinking the Forever 21 version looks like maternity wear!
ReplyDeleteOkay I really need to see what is going on with Forever 21. have not been by for the longest time..... tunic under 20.00? Sold.
ReplyDeleteMust go with the Rebecca Taylor this time -- it's just too pretty to pass up!

I like the rebecca taylor one more- but its always interesting to see these posts, sometimes the knock-offs/the look-alikes that are cheaper look so much better than the expensive ones..
ReplyDeletethanks for always updating darling
xxx
To my eyes, the Forever 21 tunic looks a bit shapeless so I'd go for the splurge!
ReplyDeleteWow, love the color and flowy-ness of both of these!
ReplyDeleteI think both are cute so I would go w/ the cheaper option in this case :)
ReplyDeleteI don't really like the dress... But good thrift!
ReplyDeletexoxo Sootjeelina <3
Is there anything better that Forever 21? That peasant shirt is gorgeous, and what a fab price. Yet another lovely find, Erika!
ReplyDeleteMaking the splurge or not for me would depend on the purpose of the purchase. Even in silk the top doesn't look incredibly dressy to me so I'd wear it to school ... no need to pay the splurge price for something the will be horribly wrinkled and perhaps irreparably damaged because I somehow manage to get highlighter on me.
ReplyDeleteI love the details too much on the Rebecca Taylor dress so that would be my pick!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Stephanie
I don't personally have anything from Rebecca Taylor, but I definitely digg that tunic!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to splurge this time. I don't think I could resist that silk Rebecca Taylor!
ReplyDeleteI love Rebecca Taylor's dresses.
ReplyDeleteReally am the thrifty one. Both are very elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe color is just so fall. Really, why not thrift.
ReplyDeleteIs it wrong that I nearly always pick the more expensive one?? The Rebecca Taylor one is seriously amazing.
ReplyDeleteSo so cute, Erika! I love the freedom and comfort of wearing a tunic over leggings. It really improves my mood to feel like I'm wearing my pajamas. :) I'd definitely go for the Forever 21 tunic, it's ridiculous how much of a price difference there is! Then I'll put the money I saved toward a new bag.

Great find- what a $ difference! I love the color...perfect for fall's military trend!
ReplyDeleteI'll go for the forever21 one:)
ReplyDeleteI like the Rebecca Taylor one MUCH more than the other one, anyway! Great find! ♥
ReplyDeleteok was going to say Rebeccas Taylor but then saw the price! ouch..
ReplyDeleteshut up erika!! that is so gorgeous! forever 21 has THAT!?!?!? i'm impressed!!!
ReplyDeletethey usually have really cute things, but sometimes i feel like they don't! i just went the other day and was not in luck. i didn't find anything that i just fell in love with!

ReplyDeleteoh, i'm gonna have to put on my spendthrift cap and go for the rt one!

ReplyDeletewhimsical-wardrobe.blogspot.com
Sigh...I've been lusting for the Rebecca Taylor version. Perhaps, I'll splurge on a shopbop sale? hehe

The Forever21 dress is perfect, why pay more? xx

Ooh, that Rebecca Taylor one has my heart today!
ReplyDeleteLove the Rebecca Taylor version much more, but I would not spend $300+ on it. Great find! xo
ReplyDeletehttp://lamouretlapaix.blogspot.com/
I think RT takes this one. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteForever 21! It's not really my style so it would be better to buy it cheap and only wear it until it falls apart. Not really an investment piece for me :)
ReplyDeleteTotally would get the Forever 21 one! I love forever they have such great deals!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome find, one of my favorite thrifty thursday. I would totally wear the F21 top! Especially with that price tag. Oh I can just see it, on a fall day with boots and a pumpkin latte!
ReplyDeleteSee, this is exactly why I love F21... great prices and stunning styles! So glad there's a F21 a block away from me ;-)
ReplyDeletei love that Forever 21 downright copies other brands.. lol (cause I can afford forever 21!!)
ReplyDeleteI have to say I really like the collar on the Rebecca Taylor one better, but that might just be the photo, Love the color on both of them though!
ReplyDeleteThe Rebecca Taylor one is so much nicer!
ReplyDeleteBoth are really cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the waist-hugging belted lines that are enchanting us from left and right this sweet wake of the fall.
ReplyDeleteI like the first one better, I think the second one is cute but the model looks preggers in it. I guess if i was pregnant I would wear it though :P
ReplyDeleteI love the Rebecca Taylor tunic so much!! The fabric... the detailing -- perfect! I have to go with the Rebecca :)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! Great splurge and save alternatives!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great weekend
xo tash
Don't spend money on a non-classic piece that you won't be wearing next year. Buy the inexpensive one and add the details yourself. Save your money for a high-end classic item that you'll be able to wear year after year.
ReplyDeleteAngela Sobien
Oh I loooove the Rebecca Taylor one, but it's so hard to go for that one when the F21 version is only $20! If only money grew on trees... :)

great find. . tunics would be great for fall :)
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of tunic , but still I love Forever 21 ! Haha .
ReplyDeleteI am loving that tunic! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going with the spendthrift tunic. They look so similar that there's really no need to overspend on something as simple as a tunic.
