Thrifty Thursday: David Lerner Lace Dress for Less

Mes chers, on the left we have David Lerner’s luscious Lace Dress; to the right we have Candie’s lovely Lace Bandage Dress courtesy of Kohl’s.

While the lace detailing seen on the Candie’s creation is a hue that matches the overall construction of the dress, as opposed to a contrasting color a la the Lerner lovely; for a mere $28.80, in comparison to the $220.00 required to call the Lerner original your own, it harbors the very same ability to make the wearer turn heads – at a price that doesn’t make one cringe!

Tell me, kittens…will you be a big spender and go for David Lerner, or be thrifty and spring for Candie’s?

Fashionably yours!

Thanks to Revolve Clothing and Kohl’s for the pictures.

  2. I have to say I like the more expensive one in this case! And the OPI nail polish is Manicurist of Seville.

  7. I haven't bought anything Candie's in YEARS!! Well, I guess I actually haven't been to a Kohls in years. Lol. This dress couldn't be more of a deadringer. I can't imagine anyone wanting to buy the more expensive version after seeing this comparison! :)

PS. I love you. Just had to throw that out there. Hehe. :P

  16. I'd definitely cash out for the expensive one, if I had an important event to wear it to lol. I'm not a fan of Candie's brand=P

  17. I'd splurge. Candies seems Junior's Dept, even if it isn't, so on principal I would go with the splurge because I gave up the junior's department when on my 23rd bday.

  20. Wow, those two compare really well. For me, it'd come down to whether I have an important event to which I'd like to wear (in which case I'd go for the David Lerner... otherwise, Kohl's all the way).

  21. If I saw two women wearing those dresses side by side, I'd honestly have no clue that they were different.

  22. That's a perfect dress for the upcoming holidays! And they really do look so similar!

  23. Definitely the Candie's, and with the price difference, I'll find a little jacket to go with it :)

  24. If the Candie's fit anywhere near as close as the Lerner I'd give it a try. I do love David Lerner!!

And I cannot wait to see your collection. Do you think you can get it all piled up by the New Year? hehe

  30. I love the Kohl's one. It looks a little sexier than the more expensive one. I love it!

  31. I don't know which one to get. It's a black dress, and to me, black dresses are usually splurges. However, there's a bit of trend in it too. Also, I think I'm a little too old for Candie's.

  32. I am so glad there is a cheaper version!

    ReplyDelete
  33. That is such a pretty and classy style. Love them both!

    ReplyDelete
  34. They really are just about identical. It looks so much better on the human model though, doesn't it? But I guess for a 10th of the cost, I'm thinking Candie's.

    ReplyDelete
  35. i actually like the candie's one better, so i'd definitely be thrifty!

    ReplyDelete
  36. yea they look pretty much the same, but i like the way the Lerner dress looks here because it's on a real person.

  41. I'd go Lerner! It looks nice and I'm not a huge fan of Candie's... plus the price for a quality LBD isn't bad at all. I love this style in general, you are insane at finding these!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hmm. I think you can tell which one is more is expensive but seeing as I'm not in the position to just shop as I please I'd go for the Candie dress! It looks well-made and is cute, too.
