Tightwad Tuesday: Trina Turk Marl Cardigan on the Cheap

Lovers, on the left we have Trina Turk’s mesmerizing Marl Cardigan in Ecru; to the right you will find Remain’s Naomi Waffle Knit Cardigan in Oatmeal Heather.

While the Remain piece is a slightly darker shade than the tantalizing Turk version; for just $39.90, as opposed to the $198.00 required to take Marl home, it is just as much of a fall staple as its higher priced counterpart, and leaves enough cash left over to allow the frugal fashionista to take home all three fabulous fall shades (army green, charcoal heather, and oatmeal heather)!

Are you having a tightwad moment darlings, or are you plagued with a craving to splurge?

Fashionably yours!

Thanks to Piperlime and Nordstrom for the pictures.

  1. I love layering, especially in New England winters. So I'll take a couple of the Remains, please :)

  5. The Remain piece is just perfect! I always find that I go the cheaper route on clothes to splurge on the shoes and accessories :)

  6. I like them both! At an in-between price point, there's a similar one on Shopbop called MINKPINK Cocoon Shawl cardi for $72!

  8. I would probably decide based on material. If both were wool, I"d go for Remain, but if only the Turk one was (and the Remain was acrylic etc.), I'd probably splurge since knits are such an investment. But thankfully I already have something in this style (except in gray), so I guess I'm sorted!

  9. This is so "I'm off to rehearsal" material. Paired with a high bun and skinny jeans I would be set!

  12. The Trina Turk is great, but I think I'd go with the less expensive version because I love the sleeves. Both are great though.

  13. Great find! I love sweaters like this. And I'll go tightwad on it, because my cats have the tendency to pull loops out with their nails.
