Though the Talbots creation lacks the ribbon-tie back of the Taylor pretty; for a mere $39.50, in comparison to the $145.00 of its haute couture counterpart, it is every bit as capable of providing the frugalista’s wardrobe with a smidgen of natty nautical-ness, at a price that gives one the chance to splurge on all three shades (Navy/Ivory, Tangerine Frost/Ivory, and Pink Sand/Ivory)!
Tell me, kittens…will you be a big spender and go for Rebecca Taylor, or be thrifty and spring for Talbots?
Fashionably yours!
Thanks to Neiman Marcus and Talbots for the pictures.

They're both so similar, I'd go with Talbots.
ReplyDeleteI really like all the nautical styles coming out lately; these shirts are so cute. :D
ReplyDeleteThat's a great tee, i would buy it:) But the 40$ one, not the 145.00!

I love both of these so much! I'd probably end up buying the Talbots one since they're so similar! I'm loving this stripe trend for spring. :]
ReplyDeleteIts easy to pay for haute Couture and look amazing or at least feel it, but the real skill is getting the haute couture look and still have the same/similar look, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteso the best choice would the Rebecca Taylor Striped Taylor Tee... in my humble opinion of course!
Good luck and tell us which one you went with in the end
I love both of these tops but would definitely opt for the cheaper on this type of item.
ReplyDeletethe price difference is just silly :)
ReplyDeletethey're almost identical - great post!! x
They look so much alike I have to go with the Talbots one! (:
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful price from Talbots. The T to have, I'm sure. Love it in that Tangerine & Pink too!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a great trend. I'll probably have to wait on this. One, I just don't wear stripes. But its really a cool T. Thank goodness for Talbot.
ReplyDeleteClassic stripes - I'd definitely go for the Talbot's one!
ReplyDeleteThe cheaper one, most definitely.
ReplyDeleteThis is a current trend piece! Lovely!

I like the way the Talbot one fits.
ReplyDeleteWe're looking very Spring today :)
ReplyDeleteI like the Talbot's, I like the neckline better on it.
I like the way the Rebecca Taylor tee hangs, but for something so basic--a striped tee--I'd opt for the Talbots version.
ReplyDeletethrifty shifty!
ReplyDeletewow! they're the same!!! niiice :D
ReplyDeleteI love the darker hue of the Talbots one. That would be my choice. I hope you have a good rest of the weekend, E. :)
ReplyDeletei'd go for the talbots one!
ReplyDeleteStripes are my favourite trend! I have so many. I love the Rebecca Talor one. it looks more nautical.
ReplyDeleteCute shirt! B&W striped shirts are a classic piece that can go with ANYTHING. :)
ReplyDeleteToo cute!! Perfect top for a pair of jeans.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally into these Nautical/French style shirts these days. I love pairing mine with some white capris and Jack Roger sandals....Classic Jackie O. Good thing it's always summer out here! Aloha:)
ReplyDeleteTHANKS FOR THE POST! I have a white J Brand jean and I want to wear with a stripe shirt ... I saw one at Chico's yesterday for $80.... and of course $39.50 is a better price :)
ReplyDeleteThanks,

oh heck no to spending over $100 for that striped shirt. hands down, i'd go for the Talbots one! :)
ReplyDeletexx, becs
I don't think I could bring myself to spend excessively on a striped shirt! (much like many others :P)
ReplyDeleteJoanne Faith xo
They look similar but I'd get the Talbots shirt.
ReplyDeleteI love a good stripe tee. They never go out of style. Talbots is great quality so I would go for it.
ReplyDeleteMy Heart Blogged
This is the perfect post, as I have already started amassing the necessary nautical pieces that are needed for this Spring's attire! I am all over the Talbot top. You can barely see the difference. Good find!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I always think of my mother when I think talbots I would def go with this. Although I already have a similar top from H&M in red :)
ReplyDeleteThe cheaper one for sure. No one will know!
ReplyDeleteI think it's so easy to find a striped tee that you really needn't spend too much on one. I might look for one with relatively nice fabric, but I wouldn't be willing to spend too much.

As much as I love Rebecca Taylor, I'd have to go for Talbots on this one. They are identical!
ReplyDeletestripes have been the rage in recent months. I like the more frugal option given these looks are very similar and the Talbots option is more economical. great finds, Erika.
ReplyDeletehope you are having a great Sunday!
The Talbots one will do just fine. =D
ReplyDelete(Thanks for answering my q! That new brush sounds awesome)
There is always something welcoming and cute about a simple stripped top! Talbots for sure! I love how versatile this cute top is :):)
ReplyDeleteI'd snag the Talbots one; the price is way more reasonable!
ReplyDeletexoxo
I prefer the cheaper one because if I buy the cheap one I'll be able to shop more.
ReplyDeleteTotally great T. Cool that you can get it at Talbots.
ReplyDeleteI want! Who would have thought Talbots would be so stylish?
