NOTD: ORLY Halo

Two coats of ORLY's Halo from the Naughty or Nice Collection. Blended Large Silver Hex Glitter with Small Gold Glitter.

Halo is the answer to the gold / silver conundrum. The blend of both glitter shades makes it super-wearable with jewelry tones of either color; while creating a virtual glitter bomb that shimmers and catches the light in the prettiest way. Out of all of the glitters I have used over the years {a very high number BTW}, this was probably the easiest to work with – thick without being gloppy; and buildable enough to gain opacity in just two coats {though it would also look gorgey layered over another shade}. This one is perfect for holiday soirees; but also works as a great year-round neutral if you covet a little sparkle.

Accessories: IndulgentDesigns Sterling Silver Infinity Knot Ring (worn above-the-knuckle) via Etsy.

  6. Definitely, love this combo from Orly. Must find. I finally got out my stamper that I've seen all the commercials about. Naturally, it doesn't work. Thank goodness it was just a Christmas present.

  12. Halo is a very apt varnish considering the Super Bowl yesterday. I'd be singing Beyonce's Halo while wearing it :)

  15. Erika! I actually thought of you as I was painting my nails this morning. Love the glitter. I went with a coral color on my nails today - though it would look way better if I was tan! Hey, what size is your knot ring? I wear a 6 on my pointer and middle fingers but want to get a knuckle ring like yours. I'm clueless about sizing - thanks for your help!

  22. Such a great glitter color! I love playing around with glitter nails and so far I think my favorites for ease of application are the butterLONDON ones. However, I do find that glitter polish is TOUGH to get off! Do you have that problem?
