Tightwad Tuesday: Herve Leger Josephine One-Shoulder Foil Dress for Less

Kitty cats what is it that they say regarding the painless removal of band-aids – one should rip it off quickly, as opposed to slowly tearing it away from the skin, correct? If only removing thoughts of the bandage dress from one’s mind was as simple a task. But alas, so is not the case; and for good reason!

Darlings, the bandage dress is not something that should easily slip from one’s thoughts, as it is a style that every girl should have hanging in her closet, regardless of how often it is deemed appropriate to be trotted out to tantalize the senses of random passersby as you wow the world with your wardrobe during a daring girls’ night out or enchanting excursion complete with cute boy, a dozen red roses, and a candlelit dinner for two. Throw in a shimmering metallic hue, and there’s no question that you’re on the road to refined elegance in the fabulous frock department – case in point, Herve Leger’s Josephine One-Shoulder Foil Dress.

Try as you might, my loves, I truly cannot imagine unearthing a design which embodies the same sort of bliss proffered by the majestic Josephine, as she goes where no bodycon beauty has ever gone before.

Josephine does not feel relegated to sticking to just one seductive characteristic; quite the opposite in fact. Instead, she is constructed with thoughts of making the wearer feel as beautiful as she looks by not only hugging each and every curve to create a slinky silhouette; but by fulfilling the ultimate in come-hither techniques by allowing one’s shoulder to play peek-a-boo via the coquettish, toga-inspired aesthetic – a trait which ensures that you look like the glittering goddess we all know you to be. If only Josephine’s price tag were a little less influenced by the goddesses of yesteryear.

At $1,690.00 – now on sale for $844.99 – it is quite unlikely that we will have the chance to call Josephine our new BFF; nevertheless, we still have the chance to make her sleek style our own courtesy of the Metallic One-Shoulder Banded Dress from Express.

Only $79.50, Express’ elegant Metallic One-Shoulder Banded Dress is every bit as stunning as its high-end counterpart; with the added bonus of being priced just right for the beautiful bargain hunter!

Is today the day for you to please the big spender within; or will you play it cool and be thrifty?

Fashionably yours!

Thanks to Saks Fifth Avenue and Express for the pictures.

  5. I've seen the bandage dresses at Express and really want to get one. They are so affordable!

    ReplyDelete
  6. They're both practically identical! But with a $79.50 price tag, you can't go wrong with the Express pick! I cannot wait to pull off a bandage dress! I think they're uber sexy!

  7. The bandage dress from Express is definitely a great buy, not only does it look similar to the first dress but it is a lot cheaper. I can already buy me a bag with the price of the Josephine dress. hahaha!

Have a great day Erika! xoxo

  8. Express, here I come! I usually only head there for basic pieces, so this is a nice surprise.

That being said, after the loss of Mr. McQueen, I've been thinking about buying a piece of his just because he was absolutely genius and inspirational and it would be a piece of fashion history...what's your take on this?

  16. I love how you write ( as always). I really love nude dresses so this is super cute but you're right, I would sooner die than purchase a dress for $850 dollars "on sale". Great find here Erika- they look almost completely the same to me.

  31. I love, love love the Herve Leger dress and Express option is such a steal... unfortunately it looked horribly on me :( There is just something about Herve Leger bandage dresses - i swear they make you look/feel skinnier than any other bandage material i've tried! But ohhh what a price...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wow. Thanks for the tip. They look almost identical...

    ReplyDelete
  33. I cannot believe how identical both look. An the express one is much cheaper! I love the express one more though! Love the post

    ReplyDelete
  34. The Express version rocks! The only thing is I would feel the need to wear shapewear with it (supposedly the original bandage dress sucks in everything right?)

  58. Love these posts of yours lady! These two options look so similar that it makes it easy to decide which one to go with - thrifty! My only warning would be with the colour and to make sure it doesn't match too too close to your skin otherwise that just looks odd :p

  66. i love this section, even though i cant get any of the labels here.

this one is an awesome comparison! hot damnnnn

    ReplyDelete
  67. Fabulous find!
The only thing that concerns me is that the panels, or bandage stripes, are considerably larger on the cheaper version and from previous experience this has often resulted in a failure to conceal "the bloat"! Still, at that price the dress is a definite steal, at least there would still be money left over for some magic knickers!
