♥…write your autobiography? Darlings, there is absolutely no question in my mind that you are destined to be superstars in the very near future; get started on your memoirs early!
♥…spend the day chasing butterflies? Slip off your towering Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent Luella Zip Wedge Sandals, top your luxurious locks with a pretty sunhat, and run freely through an open field after your newfound fluttering friends!
♥…search for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Do beware of leprechauns, kitty cats; they’re rumored to be quite vicious!
♥…flashback to another era – in terms of style, that is? Go sixties mod a la Twiggy via spider lashes, and mini dresses. Play the role of twenties flapper with feathered headbands and fringed frocks. Allocate the use of faux fur vests and empire waist dresses to channel your inner seventies haute hippie. Or simply be a maniac by styling yourself in eighties-inspired off-the-shoulder tops and legwarmers. Dolls there are times when modern style is completely overrated – this is one of them!
Fashionably yours!
Thanks to Cindy Whitehead for the picture.

I channeled the 80s yesterday, in a gray denim mini, tee & fitted cropped jacket, but... I will def consider the sixties today :)
ReplyDeleteDoes writing a YA novel count? :) Thanks for the visuals...
ReplyDeleteLove your lists, Erika :) And I filed up on apple caramel cheesecake and a rich white-and-dark chocolate brownie yesterday so I definitely had my fill of sweets for sure! Can't wait to read your memoir one day ;)
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for wedges and those Luella ones are Fantastic! I need to find me a pot of gold!

ReplyDeleteHave a great day Erika! xoxo
60, 70, 80... I want it all. I'm going to wear a mini dress with legwarmers and a feathered headband and write my autobiography sitting on the beach. Thank you, Erika, for another splendid 'Why don't you...'!
ReplyDeleteLove that photograph. xo
ReplyDeleteErika love this list.... Just got back from LA this morning.... tired... You always lift me up. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYum, frosting. One of my friends only likes cake..so at parties as kids I always used to get her frosting, too :)
ReplyDeleteCream cheese frosting and I? We are old friends for sure :)

ReplyDeleteOh yes! I always pick my dessert for the topping and not the cake part! :D

Great ideas here! As a writer, I second your suggestion to start your memoirs. Not necessarily an entire life story, but some aspect of it. Everyone's got a story to tell, after all. Happy writing :)
ReplyDeleteI have to disagree with you on this one, love! I am not a frosting lover one bit! I'm afraid I don't have much of a sweet tooth. But how about I eat the cake part & you can have all my frosting?? It's a win/win for both :)
ReplyDeletethanks for beautiful comment dear

ReplyDeleteAm I the odd one out who doesn't like the frosting?
xoxo Maria
20's flapper sounds like fun and glamorous! I've been experimenting with makeup and such, now I wish I had somewhere to go as a flapper. Halloween seems too far away and I don't know whether flappers are overdone? Now I'm thinking I'll try a range of looks from different decades...if only I had the time! But you have inspired me and your posts always do, so thank you for that.
ReplyDeleteCream cheese frosting is ridiculously yummy. Sometimes self-indulgence, in the form of frosting or a minidress or watching mindless tv or a pedicure--is just the most delightful thing in the world. Thanks for that reminder. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to write my autobiography now! I have nothing interesting to write...yet, but it'll be fun.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to dress from different eras! That's such a cool way to liven up your outfits.
I love these posts and I can't stop smiling! I can't to read your autobiography... I would so be the first in line to have it signed.
ReplyDeletetee hee. this is horrible to admit, but i used to be the baker in the family when i was a kid, and i quickly memorized how to make homemade frosting. DELICIOUS! who needs cake?!? sometimes i make a little bowl of it as a treat. it is horrendously decadent! :)
ReplyDeleteI' m writing my autobiography...it's so funny...everytime I read it, I say: " I really did that?"
ReplyDeleteahahaha
(-:
Funny you should mention it.. my workout attire of the day happens to resemble something straight out of the 80s (now where is that sweatband...) but I'm just gonna blame Erika for my fabulousness at the gym ;)
ReplyDeleteThis frosting idea is perfect for my pms. haha <3
ReplyDeleteLOL I actually only eat the frosting part of cakes ;)
ReplyDeleteI can only say, I Luv that picture!!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to eat up some frosting ;)
ReplyDeleteI want flash back to 19050's so badly and dress like Betty Draper from Mad Men!
ReplyDeleteI ate soo much frosting today, on my cupcake and in my pastries! Frosting is the best! Great post love!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about Flapper wear!
ReplyDeleteThe last time I made cupcakes, I made too much frosting. I've kept it in a container in the fridge for emergency sweet attacks!
ReplyDeletemy favorite post of the week, always.

I love that you said faux fur =)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet, inspiring post!
Hello! Thanks for dropping by my blog! i thought I;d return the favour :)
ReplyDeleteMmmmm...frosting ..om nom nom. They need to invent a type of frosting that has the same benefits as spinach and broccoli, but still tastes like frosting.
I'm all for fashion flashbacks too! Although in my case i delve even further into the past, seeking out inspiration from the Victorian era, and rococo. Luvverly. Sigh!
Erika, I'm totally doing the frosting, the autobiography and the go sixties thing!! :) Love these weekly to-do lists which are so much better than the regular stupid ones that we daily make! :P ;)
ReplyDeleteespecially love the idea of writing an autobiography. Great suggestions, Erika! (would love to read yours one day as well :)
ReplyDeleteI always love these Why Don't You posts! So fun! I agree, after looking at all the flashback fashions, modern fashion looks kind of boring. I'm working on some James Dean meets 30s lingerie looks at the moment!
ReplyDeletexo Mary Jo

That icing idea does sound tempting ;-) And I did try to find gold at the end of a rainbow as a child but I soon gave up. Chasing butterflies will never get old though!
ReplyDeletei love this post so much! i always wanted to write an autobiography, ahh. i've been obsessed with journals and journalling since i was like, seven. when i started writing in my first journal, my dad asked me why i was doing that - and apparently i replied (i don't really remember this but he always tells this story) - "because one day I'm going to be famous, and I'm the only one whose gonna tell my story" LOL
ReplyDeleteenjoy your thursday dear anndddd fellow ex-Neopian ;)

I love the idea for the 60's look- love that! And fill up on frosting I do regularly... about 3 huge spoonfuls until I'm sick. And this picture is my desktop background right now! Not sure if you've used it before and I took it from you or some other blogger, but I love the picture.
ReplyDeleteThese lists are my favorite lists ever!
ReplyDeleteI really want to be the girl in the photo. She looks pretty and peaceful. Has me craving a tropical getaway . . .
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy these "why don't you . . ?" They're my fave. =)
My pot of gold is finishing my weekend deadlines. :-/
ReplyDeleteLove the last idea the most. Dressing in different era, some 40's and 50's outfit will be preferred by this girl right now. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your "Why don't you...? posts
ReplyDeletelove this!!
ReplyDeletemy housemates made me the most amazing lemon drizzle cake for my birthday last week- I could have eaten the topping alone!!
and I love the idea of flashing back to another era. I was told last night my outfit looked like I should be in Grease.
is anything more beautiful than 50s style?
another fabulous post!!
