Tightwad Tuesday: Elizabeth and James Parker Pocket Shirt for a Steal

Darlings, to the left take a peek at the pretty Parker Pocket Shirt in Off White / Cream from Elizabeth and James; to the right plant your kohl-rimmed cat eyes upon the Sheer Pocket Shirt in Beach Pebble from GAP.

While the GAP gem is constructed out of 100% Polyester, as opposed to the 100% Silk construction of the elegant Elizabeth & James; for just $59.95, in comparison to the $295.00 price tag of Parker, it is le perfect compromise for the budget babe – and allows for the frugal fashionista to snag both smoldering shades (Beach Pebble and True Black)!

So mes chéris, what are you up to today? Will your AmEx take a beating with a splurge, or will you stay safe and thrifty with a frugal buy?

Fashionably yours!

Thanks to Revolve Clothing and GAP for the pictures.

  8. Definitely the Gap one. I love white button downs but when the buttons go all the way down it makes me look really weird. I like it when they go half way. For some reason it just looks better on me. Although I'll have to wear something substantial underneath. See through!

  9. While I love the savings, I do actually own some Elizabeth and James shirts and the quality is amazing. I have looked at the shirts at the gap and the way they hang is just not the same, plus the cut is much slimmer. There's something I really enjoy about the E & J loose cuts out of sheer cotton fabric, but that's just me. I am a stickler for cut. Great post as always Erika!

  35. Oh both are lovely! And though the Gap is a very nice substitute I think I ultimately would choose the E&J if I could! I like the button down.

  36. Silk vs polyester....sigh, why must quality always be compromised?? Oh the woes of shopping reality. But I'll go with Gap here.
