{muse of the moment} Givenchy fold over leather boots

During my non-working hours, much of my time has been taken up perusing the pages of the Victoria’s Secret Swim 2013 catalog {where I have already marked The Sash Overlay Bikini as a warm-weather essential}; scoping out potential sandal contenders {I’m thinking the metallic alice + olivia Denny would look amazing against tanned legs}; and scooping up necessary nail shades {hello pretty L’Oreal pastels}. The one thing standing in my way is…Givenchy.

Long before you knew me as Café Fashionista, I was a boot fanatic. An adoration that has seemingly grown by the second as I’ve spotted Carrie Bradshaw strut down the streets of New York in knee-high snakeskin boots and a fur coat {enviable topknot bobbing along with each step}; supermodels take the Isabel Marant runway in slouchy fringed boots coupled with microscopic minis and body-hugging skinnies; and now, the always-chic Christine Centenera {Senior Fashion Editor for Vogue Australia} donning the very Givenchy boots in question during the illustrious Fashion Week.

With these on my covet-radar since fall 2012, I finally purchased the more-budget-appropriate-but-still-incredible Stuart Weitzman Spats Boots in December as a combination birthday/Christmas/graduation gift to myself to quell my Givenchy desire; rather, the purchase has had the opposite effect. As those of you who follow me on Instagram have likely figured out; I love the Spats version so much, that the lure of the Givenchy's has only grown. But at an almost-but-not-quite $2,000.00 pricetag...unlikely seems the word. Still, a girl can swoon.
