NOTD: OPI Mariah Carey Holiday Liquid Sand in Silent Stars Go By

Two coats of OPI Silent Stars Go By from the Mariah Carey Holiday Liquid Sand Collection. Taupe / Nude Champagne.

When this collection was first released, I kept hearing that Silent Stars Go By was a near dupe of Make Him Mine. It most certainly is not. In fact, if you ask me, it's not even close.

Make Him Mine is pure rose gold; while Silent Stars Go By is...office-apropos glitter. It's a shimmering take on the typical neutral, mixing taupe / nude shades, adding a mauve / pale pink undertone, and tossing in the perfect amount of glitter to make the combo sparkle like champagne.

The second coat is where the mauve hue truly comes into play. Coincidentally enough, the second coat also serves as the finale for opaque bliss.

  12. Definitely not even close. Though this color has its' own time and place, I love the rose gold. I had a very similar color that I was wearing all the time. I might need to break it out again soon.
