When I reviewed nails inc.'s Let It Snow Collection a couple of days ago I forgot to mention that I also picked up it's vampy-er, more Christmas-inspired sister - the Tinsel Town Collection; which, if I may confess, I love even more due to the inclusion of one VIP {Very Important Polish}...Marylebone Avenue.
Like the Let It Snow Collection, the Tinsel Town Collection includes 2 mini shades and 1 full-size glitter. The difference is that both mini shades are cremes {no foils here!}; and, unlike the Kensington Church Street Snowflake glitter from the Let It Snow Collection, the glitter featured in this collection {Marylebone Avenue} cannot be purchased separately. Onto the swatches!
Kensington High Street is a Rich Merlot-Meets-Mulberry Creme. This is the quintessential Christmas shade that is gorgeous worn by itself or beneath a glitter. The fact that it has plummy undertones makes it very versatile, as it looks different {sometimes red, sometimes purple} in various settings. The coverage is fantastic - almost a one-coater! I loved the formula here - it was firm/dense yet creamy, which made it very easy to work with. This is 2 coats.
Marylebone Avenue Special Effects is Iridescent Micro-Glitter, and Holographic Gold and Red Chevron Stripe Shaped Special Effects Pieces in a Clear Base. In a nutshell: You need to buy this collection for this polish alone. Seriously, this is my new all-time favorite glitter {and also served as my Thanksgiving mani} because it is so incredibly unique. And when I say that, I mean that I have never seen anything like it before! The formula is fab - for a fuller special effects look, you'll want to use 2 coats; for a more subtle shimmer opt for 1. This is the type of polish that everyone on the planet needs a bottle of. Trust. Here I'm wearing it over Kensington High Street. This is 2 coats.
Mayfair Lane is a Victorian Rose Pink Creme. Mayfair Lane is one of those unexpected colors that you don't expect to see in a holiday collection, but I appreciate its presence as it's a nice pastel that feels kind of perfect for winter. I love the formula on this one - it's very lush and creamy; two things I adore in a creme polish. This is 2 coats.
Love this trio, especially the sparkles!
