shades of gray...

My morning shoe selection ritual goes a little like this: ankle boot vs ankle boot vs ankle boot...yet somehow, despite my always-expanding collection, I have never before owned a pair in gray. I was this close to pulling the trigger on a pair of Rag & Bone Gray Nubuck Newbury Booties when I spotted Sidney and fell in love. at. first. sight.

Sidney is, by all means, one of the chicest summer-to-fall transitional boots. It is highly comparable to the Rag & Bone Newbury {trust me: I own 3 pairs} in terms of heel and shaft height, and comfort-level; with the primary differences being the price, the side zipper {as opposed to the back zipper of the Newbury}, and...the very on-trend perforated detailing which is subtle yet eye-catching {perf combo, yes?}. So if you've been coveting the Rag & Bone's, Sidney should seriously be on your radar.

The Fennel shade I received from Sole Society {also available in Light Luggage and Black} is a gorgeous neutral that leans misty gray in hue; but can be a bit of a chameleon in color depending on how you style it {when I wear them with black skinnies they look darker; when paired with white denim cutoffs they look lighter}.

I've kind of been living in these since they arrived two days ago, and don't think I'll be stopping anytime soon. They are such a brilliant color for fall; and the fact that you can wear them out of the box with literally no break-in time? Totally seals the deal!
