I received this polish from Lowanda of the blog Sunshine and Elephants back in July as part of the #SPBoxSwap, and while I applied the polish within hours of receiving it, I am only now reviewing it. Shame on me. Anywho...

White On is one of those simple shades that is inexpensive and dupe-able, yet so pretty that you have to have it anyway. As a hugehugehuge fan of white polishes, finding it in my swap box completely overjoyed me, and it quickly clinched a spot in my stash.

I love the long wand that comes with this polish as it makes for an easier application. While it goes on beautifully, however, I found that it cracked and chipped within 24 hours. Womp womp. Nevertheless, it was beautiful on, and is a great choice for short-term wear.

OPI Washington D.C. 4PC Mini Set Swatches + Review

Last week I promised you that I would soon be reviewing OPI's Washington D.C. 4PC Mini Set, and today...I deliver! This quartet was a surprise to me, as the colors in the bottles looked semi-unappealing; but on the nail? Let's just say it was a whole different story. See what I mean below!

We the Female is a Brick Creme. When I think of an autumn red, this is exactly the shade I have in mind: rich and vampy. What really makes We the Female an original is the rust, brown, brick undertones that give it a true autumn feel that is v different from your run of the mill red. Formula here is flawless - it reaches opacity in a flash and has a dense texture that never tries to flood the cuticles. Digging it! This is 2 coats.

Pale to the Chief is a Nearly Nude Creme. Le sigh. I have so many mixed emotions about this color, I can't even. When I first applied it I was like, no way, so not a fan. Then, after a few hours, it started to grow on me. After a couple of days though I was over it - I wanted some color. Long story short, if you love a nude nail, or a cafe au lait shade, then you'll dig Pale to the Chief; if you prefer more color, you're going to view it as blase and boring. Formula was great. Though sheer, it builds to a beautiful opacity in a few coats and leaves you with perfect mannequin hands. This is 3 coats.

CIA = Color is Awesome is a Deep Teal Creme. Teals don't pop up everyday in nail polish collections, so when they do...let's just say it's something to get v excited about. Though described as a dusty blue, CIA = Color is Awesome reads deep teal on the nail, and that color is awesome {see what I did there?}, and will appeal greatly to those who dig a vampy nail that isn't the typical plum or black cherry hue. Formula here is fab - highly pigmented, fantastically fluid, and an absolute breeze to work with! This is 2 coats.

Never a Dulles Moment is a Curry Yellow Creme. Here's a shocking revelation, if you will: Never a Dulles Moment is the best kept secret of the entire Washington D.C. collection. While yellow rarely tops polish favorites lists {especially mine}, Never a Dulles Moment is different. It has a depth and opulence that I have never before seen in a yellow hue. I'm dying to whip it out all autumn long! That said, I'm not crazy about how it looks on my skintone; so I probably won't. Womp womp. The formula here was a little less spectacular than the rest of the shades in this quartet. It was thinner, so it had a tendency to gravitate towards the cuticles, and appeared slightly patchy without multiple coats. This is 3 coats.

Formula here was v good. While I found the first coat to be a bit thinner than expected; coat two really leveled things out, and brought to fruition the gorgeousness you see above. Highly recommend this beaut!

My daughter attends a school with a uniform dress policy. After the first day, she kept happily telling me, “but it doesn’t feel like a uniform.” I honestly don’t know what she was expecting. As a {her} mom, I’m just happy to not debate wardrobe preferences with a five year old on the daily–to belt or not to belt, skinny or boyfriend jeans, dress up or dress down a jumpsuit, or florals versus Autumn colors. As a fashion follower and someone who used to work in apparel manufacturing, I look for ways to give her a positive uniform experience.

Uniforms really have made a turn around from years past–better fabric, better cuts, and more colors to choose from. It got me thinking, we can all have a uniform–usually made up of our favorite seasonal pieces. Call it a fashion rut, call it a capsule wardrobe, call it a smart wardrobe, but what it comes down to is this–quality pieces that we feel both comfort and style, and is appropriate to our surroundings that can be worn over and over again.

Singapore recently celebrated their National Day, and some beautiful ladies showed off their true colors in uniform fashion. There is also a wonderful sentiment behind the celebration’s logo this year–check it out! IFB bloggers were offering lots of helpful advice again this week with posts on taking your look from work to drinks, making petite legs look longer, how to not buy maternity, and building a perfect wardrobe. An ONecklace Summer {ONecklace Jewelry Review}

My preference in terms of jewelry has drastically changed from what it once was. Gone are the cravings for cocktail rings and oversized pendants; replaced by simplicity that draws the eye without overpowering your person. We're talking minute knot rings, petite pendants, and dainty charms. While my tastes have changed, my jewelry box has not; so when ONecklace offered me the chance to refresh my accessory drawer, I immediately jumped at the chance.

Running with the summer season, I opted for three whimsical pieces that felt utterly essential for the warmer months: the 24k Gold Plated Dreamcatcher Necklace, the 24k Gold Plated Dreamcatcher Bracelet, and the 24K Gold Plated Anchor Bracelet.

What I love so much about ONecklace is the ability to customize your selections. All of the baubles I chose allow you to choose the chain length and chain style. I like shorter chains that rest at the throat, so I ordered my necklace with a 16" rolo chain. As I have v small wrists, I ordered the bracelets with a 6.5" rolo chain. While still large on my wrists, they are not uncomfortably so. All of the pieces I received are also available in Sterling Silver.

While I primarily stuck to the pendant department, ONecklace offers a stunning selection of everything from rings and earrings to bridesmaid and birthstone collections. What I'm most intrigued by, however, is the Braille Jewelry which I find to be the most wonderfully unique, clever, compassionate collection to hit the jewelry world. This is the first time that I have ever seen Braille Jewelry offered by any company, and it is such a wonderful inclusion. Had I spotted the Braille Jewelry Collection before placing my order I definitely would have indulged.

OPI Washington D.C. 3PC Mini Set Swatches + Review

Fall mini sets are basically my kryptonite, so when I found out that OPI was releasing not one, but two {the Limited Edition Washington D.C. 3PC Mini Set you see here and the Washington D.C. 4PC Mini Set I will be reviewing in the next couple of weeks}, I ultimately had to grab both. Of the two, this tempting trio is my personal fave because it literally includes the only colors you need for fall. True story. Peep the prettiness below!

Kerry Blossom is a Plum Creme. Now that is what I'm talking about! Kerry Blossom is the type of shade I gravitate towards every. single. fall. which makes it a total standout in this trio! I love the almost black but not feel of the color, which is fantastically vampy yet fully apropos for the season of harvest. Formula here was amazing. I did find it to appear slightly patchy on the nail, so it needed an extra coat to bring it to full opacity. This is 3 coats.

Inside the ISABELLEtway is a Caramel Creme. Le sigh. This color makes me crave Thanksgiving like whoa! I thought that this color would be slightly more tan-based, so it was a great surprise when it came out looking more milk chocolate / caramel. This shade is so under-represented in polish collections, so I loved seeing it here. I found Inside the ISABELLEtway {not crazy about the name} to be slightly thin, so it needed a little extra to build up the opacity. This is 3 coats.

"Liv" in the Gray is a Sophisticated Charcoal Gray Creme. This color doe! Ladies, "Liv" in the Gray may be one of my all-time favorite smoky shades. While it checks off those sassy charcoal marks, what truly sets it apart is the olive undertones which add gorgeous dimension. Formula here was flawless. It applied rich and lustrous with just two simple swipes. This is 2 coats.

Two coats of Essie Nail Polish in Berried Treasures. Bright Ruby Berry Creme.

Berried Treasures is an interesting shade. On one hand, the berry shading lends a winter-y feel to it; on the other, the hot pink undertones make it feel summer-y - together, it creates a sort of brightened poppy red-meets-pink that, while not super unique, sure is pretty.

Formula here is fab. It builds quickly, packs amazing pigmentation, and would honestly look amaze for all seasons.

{what's in my} ipsy july 2016 glam bag!

Sorry that this bag reveal is coming so late this time around, but the Nordstrom #NSale basically consumed this blog for a few weeks there. Sadly, it has ended, so back to regularly scheduled programming - like a review of my July 2016 ipsy Glam Bag! Generally speaking, this was the most ho-hum bag I have received in almost a year, but sometimes that's just the way things go.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with ipsy, it is a beauty subscription service that costs $10 per month {awesome deal IMO}, and consists of a collectible makeup bag {can also double as a clutch} along with 5 beauty samples that are customized to your personal beauty profile {which you can change/update at anytime}. I love getting subscription boxes, but don't have a ton of extra cash to spare, so I find ipsy to be the best value as each month's bags are adorable, the products are of fantastic quality, and their stylists are top-notch {and some of my fave beauty bloggers}. That being said, let's get to the bag!

July's theme was HOT SUMMER NIGHTS {bonfires, bbqs, and pool parties ftw!}. Inside my bag was a LUXIE BEAUTY Luxie Rose Gold Small Angle Eye Brush 215, mini theBalm Meet Matt(e) Trimony Matte Eyeshadow in MATT MOSKOWITZ, OFRA Lip Liner in SILK, Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré, and Thrive Causemetics Infinity Waterproof Eyeliner in LAUREN.

Due to the fact that theBalm Cosmetics products aren't as easily attainable as brands such as Urban Decay or NARS {i.e. they're not available at Sephora or Ulta}, I rarely seek them out; but the few I have tried via ipsy have always been winners for me - MATT MOSKOWITZ included. This particular shade is a matte plum that looks intimidating, but really works as a transitional crease shade or all over the lid {plus it brings on all of the fall feels}. While this won't get a lot of mileage for me during the summer, I'm super excited to whip this bad boy out for fall eye looks. Pigmentation is brill - to the left is a swatch using no primer; to the right is just one swipe using primer {clearly primer is the way to go - isn't it always?}. While I wouldn't repurchase this shade {this one will keep me going for awhile}, I would def scoop up a few other colors - or the entire Meet Matt{e} Trimony Palette in the future!

In my estimation, a girl can never have too many makeup brushes - so when I unbagged this LUXIE BEAUTY Luxie Rose Gold Small Angle Eye Brush 215 I had to indulge in a little happy dance. This is my third or fourth brush from LUXIE {all via ipsy}, and I absolutely adore not just the quality, but how pretty they look sitting on your counter. This particular brush is a new fave of mine because it is so versatile. The bristles, which manage to be both dense and soft, and keep their shape beautifully, allow for use on eyebrows, eyeliner, or simply applying shadows to the lower lashline; while the size is compact enough to get into hard to hard to reach areas for extra detailing. In love!

So many of the beauty vloggers I follow rave about OFRA Cosmetics, so I was v excited to find OFRA in my July Bag; unfortunately, the format {a lip liner} was kind of a womp womp moment because I rarely use lip liner. That said, the color I received {a ballet slipper pink} was enough for me to take note, and give it a whirl. I love the way this applies - it's smooth, doesn't drag during application, and lasts all day. Since lip liners aren't my thang, I've found that I can apply this all over the lips, then top it with gloss for a really gorgeous {and natural!} nudey/pink pout.

If you read my review of my June 2016 ipsy Glam Bag, you know that I'm so over receiving moisturizers and face creams, so finding Embryolisse's Lait-Crème Concentré in my bag was not thrilling. As someone with normal-to-dry sensitive skin, I don't like trying new face products, as I've already found what works for me; but I will admit that this one was nice, feeling lightweight and hydrating. While toted as a moisturizer though, I think that this works better as a primer as it helps to really lock-in foundation and make it look flawless. Admittedly, I'm still not thrilled with this inclusion in the bag, but whatevs.

This eyeliner doe! I'm not a huge fan of eyeliner pencils {I'm pretty true to my liquid eyeliner}, but this one from Thrive Causemetics is bomb! Aside from being vegan, all natural, and paraben, sulfate, latex, and cruelty-free, this has all of the things going for it. The shade I received, Lauren, is literally the richest matte black I have ever used; the waterproof claims are 100% true {I was splashed and dunked underwater and this stuff did. not. move.}; and the fact that it's so user-friendly {i.e. no tugging during application} completely clinches the deal. I'm also quite fond of their Beauty with a Purpose™ endeavor: For every eyeliner you purchase, they donate one to a woman in need. More Thrive Causemetics puh-lease!

Gosh, I love fashion, and according to my family I’ve always loved fashion. I’m told {teased} that ‘mall’ was my first word. Furthermore, a couple weeks ago, after escaping the heat for the evening at my local mall with my little family, my two year old exclaimed–no, demanded–that she wanted to “do” the mall again! Sweet child o’ mine!

While my shopping experience preferences have evolved over time, my roots can still be appreciated. This week, IFB bloggers were appreciating the trends of Summer with a knowing eye towards Autumn. Denim on denim, athleisure, rompers, and monochrome looks. Accessorizing seemed to be at the top of many lists with vests, chokers, straw hats, and a wide assortment of handbags–from tech to quirky. Think you could be in a wardrobe rut? Consider two similar but different perspectives for dressing on the daily.

Just like the mall, there is a little bit of everything this week. Pick and choose, or read it all. There is certainly something for everyone. My poor mother… she just wanted to take me to the beach. This mother doesn’t.

Can colors like this please be mandatory in all polish collections? For reals though, I cannot get enough of them - that light-yet-bright blue is just TDF.

Sailing & Nail-ing was a total breeze to work with; however, the formula is thin, resulting in bald/patchy spots, so you def have to pile on the coats for full opacity. Nevertheless, I'm in L-O-V-E.
