NOTD: Ciaté Paint Pot in Starlet
Starlet reminds me exactly of the peacock eyes Pat McGrath created for the Roberto Cavalli Fall / Winter 2012 runway. Thus, even though shimmers aren't usually my thing, I'm seriously digging this duochrome.
The color shift from purple to green is subtle yet so striking - definitely intense in an understated way. The formula was fantastic - brushstrokes are invisible, and the coverage is great. Highly recommended if you're looking for something unique.
Note: Please excuse the bubbles / bumps. They in no way reflect the quality of the polish; and were actually caused by my top coat - which is, apparently, ready for retirement.

Look Sharp Sconnie, let her facial hair grow to make a point about femininity and documented it beautifully. Vic Styles pondered if you wear the same clothes, can you be stylish? My Fashion S/ash Life found some remarkably stylish gents. And Pupuren discussed the phenomenon of photographing oneself, how one's face changes. (I know this from experience). it's perf! {Shop Suey Boutique Handbag Review}
Though satchels were once the only handbag aesthetic I would carry; for the past few years, I have been rotating three Rebecca Minkoff Mini Nikki Hobo Bags {all in a different color, mind you} through my wardrobe. That's right, my handbag shape has not changed once in three years. I'll let you digest that info for a moment...
Anyway... given that fact, I was very excited to try something new - especially something as unique as Andie.
Andie may be a satchel; but she's a one-handled satchel {it's very Fendi Peekaboo}. There's also a little Louboutin action going on in terms of inspiration. You see those perfect perforated bits on the front and sides {p.s. the perforation on the front is diamond-shaped; the perforation on the sides is circular}? The inner edges of the perforation is trimmed in red a la the classic Louboutin soles; which, surprisingly looks amazing with the overall color of the bag - a hue I would describe as blush meets nude meets dulce de leche {definitely not your typical pink; but gorgeous nonetheless - and the perfect match for the rose gold hardware}.

Nicole by OPI Kellogg’s® Special K® Nail Lacquer Review
FINAL THOUGHTS
The true standout trait of this trio is not the colors {which are gorgeous to look at but nothing too groundbreaking}; rather, it's the flawless formula. I cannot rave enough about how incredible the formula was on all 3 of these polishes {but especially My Sol Shines Brighter} - for the formula alone it's worth checking these shades out!

{beauty board} no-makeup makeup
LIPS: This is the no-makeup makeup look, so give your lipstick the boot. As a matter of fact, toss your gloss, as well. You want your pout to be as natural as it can be; thus, a waxy balm that is entirely clear is a must - I like KORRES Lip Butter in Guava. You may be going au naturel; but a little definition goes a long way.
Grab a lip liner that matches your lips {I use PALLADIO's Retractable Waterproof Lip Liner in Nearly Nude}, and swipe it lightly around the inside edge of your lips using the side of the pencil {not the tip}; then use your ring finger or pinky to dab a little more balm over the pencil to blend.
CHEEKS / FACE: The simplest way to fake the coveted just returned from a run flush? A face palette that combines multiple products {i.e. a blush and bronzer duo} - I'm currently loving the CLARINS 'Ombré Minérale' Face Palette. Just swirl a brush through the entire palette and apply to cheeks, chin, and across your forehead for a look that is straight from the elements natural. If you, like me are a fan of highlights, grab that clear balm - a dab on the tops of cheekbones gives you a gorgeous glow!
LASHES: My normal makeup routine involves a lot of black liquid liner - something that is definitely not a part of the no-makeup makeup equation. You're relying on lashes and lashes alone for this look, so you want curl, length, and no clumps. I use SEPHORA COLLECTION's Eyelash Curler in Rose Quartz because it's the quickest curler I've ever used {also the jewel-tone makes it seem less sterile and scary than a standard black or silver}; then follow up with three coats of MAYBELLINE Define-A-Lash Lengthening Mascara in Very Black. This is the absolute best mascara for lengthening - not to mention that the price is swoon-worthy.
BROWS: You're not wearing a ton of eye makeup; so you want to make sure that your brows are on point. I highly recommend the IT COSMETICS Your Brows But Better Brow Power Skinny Pencil for everyone, as the skinny pencil works for all brow colors - just use more swipes to accommodate darker hair. Once you've filled in your brows, flip the pencil and use the spooly brush end to tame any wayward hairs.
LIDS: Obviously you're not aiming for a smoky eye; but that doesn't mean that eyeshadow is a no-go - quite the opposite. A bronze, gold, or champagne shade {I love the SEPHORA COLLECTION MicroSmooth Baked Eyeshadow Trio in 02 Sunray because it contains all 3} run along lower and upper lash lines adds definition and subtle shimmer to your eyes - emphasizing them without abandoning the no-makeup makeup look.

NOTD: Ciaté Paint Pot in Tweed and Tails
Tweed and Tails is perfect for fall - it's very chic in an urban jungle way. Personally...I'm on the fence about this shade. I feel as if it looks fine with my skintone; there's simply something about it that feels off, but I can't put my finger on what, precisely, it is. It could just be the time of year that I'm testing it out - it's not very spring / summery. But I digress...
Formula-wise, Tweed and Tails is a gem. It reaches almost complete opacity in just one coat {I did use 2 coats here to keep things even}; and is very user-friendly. If you're a fan of muted, borderline masculine nail shades you'd enjoy this.

it's electric {Shop Suey Boutique Necklace Review}
Though I have since retired those bags; I am still a huge fan of Shop Suey Boutique, and find myself browsing their site at least a few times each week. So of course I jumped at the chance to work with them {again}. And working with them involved...Lyndie.
I gave you a brief introduction to the Lyndie Necklace Set a few days ago when I included it in the feature {fashion folio} off duty; but today we're focusing only. on. Lyndie. Because she's truly too pretty not to deserve her own feature.
Statement necklaces and I don't usually jive. I'll do the pendant necklace; {very} occasionally I'll rock an arm party; but most of the time I forgo it all in favor of oversized hoops or studs. The reason why Lyndie actually resonated with me {and my personal style} had to do with the chain - which isn't a chain at all; rather, it's a jump rope-esque cord woven with various neon colors that brings a youthfulness to the style that keeps it from feeling stuffy.
It's an unexpected juxtaposition - the acrylic jewels paired with the neon rope - that really places this piece in a class of its own; and makes it easier {not to mention more fun} to wear.
This is called the Lyndie Necklace Set; so, of course, I must mention that it comes with a pair of stud earrings {diameter 3/8" - my favorite size for adding sparkle}. The earrings and acrylic jewels on the necklace are both set in an antique gold backing that is absolutely beautiful - not harsh or brassy. I've taken to pairing the earrings with everything, and Lyndie with plain white tees {v-necks, of course} - she adds such a brilliant decoration to the neckline!

NOTD: Ciaté Paint Pot in Chinchilla
Le sigh...after years of searching I have finally finally finally found my perfect. gray. polish.
Chinchilla is, technically, gray like Ciaté Pillow Fight; but the two shades are very different. Chinchilla is paler in overall hue, and could easily be mistaken for a baby blue shade in certain lights; whereas Pillow Fight is darker and, at times, comes off as lilac. Both gorgeous shades in their own right; but not dupes.
The formula on this...heaven. Totally no muss, no fuss. It had the same type of no fail vibe that is usually exclusive to textured polishes, in that it was ultra-cooperative and super simple to work with. Love this beauty!

never smile at a crocodile...{AMIClubwear Clutch Review}
I would love to be one of those small handbag girls, but I've always felt more comfortable with a mid-size bag to carry multiple lip glosses and other miscellany that I deem essential. This bag, though, is seriously making me rethink my daily necessities. Just look at it...how could it not?!
While I chose the studded tote; this Clutch was a complete and total surprise, yet it. is. so. me. The color, the texture...I'm in love. The Patent Faux Leather Croc Textured Clutch Handbag is available in 4 other colors - Avocado, Blush Pink, Fuchsia, and Midnight Blue; but the Turquoise remains my favorite {and not just because I own it}. The color is summer - nothing else to it. It is crystal clear waters and island destinations, and, truth be told the new BFF of my white skinny jeans.
Considering this has clutch status, the size is workable for everyday, all-day wear, featuring 2 interior slip pockets, and 1 {very large} interior zip pocket. What makes it amazing for day or night is the detachable gold chain strap {p.s. it looks amazing with the turquoise shade} which allows you to wear it over your shoulder {for hands-free shopping, of course} or clutch style {for date night}.

OPI Brazil Collection Beach Sandies Liquid Sand Mini Set Review
FINAL THOUGHTS
I love this collection! I feel as if it so perfectly captures the brilliance of Brazil while being the perfect range of colors for summer-summer-summertime. Even better...the ultra long wear-time makes them ideal for vacations, as they literally do. not. chip. Like ever.
While the rest of the Brazil Nail Lacquer Collection is available in full-size bottles; these 4 shades have been fashioned exclusively in this limited edition mini set. This isn't a factor that bothers me, as I prefer mini bottles, but it may bother some, as the brush is smaller to work with.
So necessary for Summer 2014.
