Tightwad Tuesday: Chloe Paraty for Pennies

One should always be in the company of a handbag that makes you dazzle – a shoulder accoutrement, or tantalizing tote which hangs elegantly from the crook of your arm; enticing passersby to cast quick, envious glances in your direction, only to look the other way when you catch their eye, too haughty to admit that they covet the pretty in your possession.

Let’s get things straight right off the bat, darlings…to dazzle, it is not a prerequisite for a handbag to be decked out in glittering rhinestones or sparkles; nor is it necessary for it to be dipped in gold, or covered in studs. An accessory that truly dazzles is one with character that shines from within; quite like that found via Chloe’s Paraty Medium Tote.

There are no outrageous embellishments adorning her smooth surface, or stop-them-dead-in-their-tracks shades that will make it nearly impossible for you not to stick out like a sore thumb. In place of those unnecessary attributes is timeless charm, classic refinement, and a desire to get down and party with the posh Paraty!

Soft, supple black leather receives a gilded makeover with subtle goldtone hardware lacing the top handle; while a shoulder strap makes it easy for one to sling the bag around their body criss-cross applesauce style, or simply allow it to dangle haphazardly to and fro in the chicest of ways as they lug this luxurious bit of luggage here, there, and everywhere.

But no, I won’t be partying ‘til the break of dawn with the Paraty anytime soon, courtesy of the four-digit number - $1,895.00 – which, sadly, comes attached to it. At $46.00, however, Emmie is every bit as enticing to both me and my current budget.

Like the Paraty, Emmie is luscious and luxurious, and can be donned in a multitude of fashions; making her a worthy contender of my affections.

Which road are you traveling today, dolls? Tightwad or spendthrift?

Fashionably yours!

Your 1st paragraph is genius, and the 2nd even better! I agree with you...Emmie looks luxurious and very flexible for styling!

When it comes to bags, my priority is the quality. So that said, you know what road I'm traveling.

Although the Chloe Paraty is not in my wish list right now. I find it a bit small for my huge bag taste.

"courtesy of the four-digit number" so funny but very true I am a straight tightwad today.

I think I actually like the cheaper one better! I love it! I can't believe anyone has enough money to buy the real deal.

Both of these look great! They're so similar and they're definitely the perfect size for all my stuff I have to carry! :)

Great bag. I agree with some readers about buying quality and most of the time I do, but there are a few bags that I will never spend the amount they cost and so a nice cheaper version is better for me and my future retirement! :)

I have to say I like the quality of the more expensive bag better, but I have my eye on a little colored clutch right now. xoxo

they are very close-but since I buy a bag and wear it daily for an entire season/6 or so months at a time I'd rather buy 2 exceptional ones (more like Bulga than Chanel for now though) xo

OMG! They are so similar. I even like the second one better. Good eye catch! You are right that a simple bag can be as dazzling as a more decorated one.

OMG, The Chloe bag is to DIE for. I'm going to have to pick that one over the cheaper version. *Sigh* about the price. Guess I'm going to have to start saving from now one.

I have to admit I have a deep love for beautiful designer bags *blushes*, so yes I'm on the high road!

Ohh, and I have been lusting after a Cartier panther ring forever too! ;)

i can't spend that much or that little on a bag. has to be somewhere in between. i gave up on imitation leather - has to be the real thing or it just won't hold up.
i also can't justify a mortgage payment on a bag. just not right.

Ugh I have to go with Chloe. The quality just looks better to me and is more likely to cause the envious stares you desire! Handbags are for long-term so I say splurge!

zupu said...

That Chloé is gorgeous!!! I would spend if I could but I don't think I dare.. If only someone could give me it as a present! Maybe Santa? :)

so many lovely blog posts today on stunning handbags! i'll have to go for the emmie as well. tres chic!

I would say tightwad is the way to go here! It is amazing how you can sometimes find more budget friendly versions of designer items, that actually compare well in terms of looks as well as quality. And an amazing handbag really does wonders for almost any outfit... I love both of these, but would spend my money on the Emmie! :)

$1000+? If I convert that to my currency, I'd be able to buy 2 iphone handsets. Haha
