I absolutely loved the red glitter lips that Pat McGrath created for the A/W 2016 Atelier Versace runway; and while it seems completely outrageous to rock such a look year-round, the holidays seem the perfect time to try it on for size, amiright? Though McGrath actually created a lip kit featuring everything needed to achieve a shimmering smooch, it's loooong sold out at Sephora, but still easily attainable with the right tools and a few tips {all of which I'm featuring below}.

To Get The Look: Outline your lips with a blackened plum liner {this one is a great dupe for MAC's Nightmoth}. Mix the red and black glitter together in a small plate or cup, and place it to the side. Swipe the matte red liquid lipstick onto your top lip, then place e.l.f. Cosmetics' Makeup Lock & Seal onto the tip of a small makeup brush {the one included with the product is fantastic}, dip it into the glitter, and dab all over your top lip {do this before the lipstick sets}. The Makeup Lock & Sealintensifies the glitter and color, and helps to keep it in place longer. Repeat on the bottom lip, and voila! Runway-approvedshimmering perfection!
'Tis the season for copper eyes that harness the essence of autumn and add a decadent glow to green, blue, brown, hazel, and all other eye colors in between! To start, apply a seashell-hued eye color to the inner corners of eyes to highlight {Rimmel London's ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bulletrpoof Beige is my go-to}; then, using a flat shadow brush, pat a fiery copper pigment {I've linked to 3 below!} all over the lid and lower lashline. To finish, apply two coats of black mascara {my current fave is tarte's Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara} to top and bottom lashes to make eyes pop like crazy! Pick your favorite pigment in 3, 2, 1...

Feeling the dewy, radiant skin that will make you #GlowLikeJLO? Now is the perfect time to try it out because summer! Dubbed strobing, the re-branded trend {it's a fancy new way to refer to highlighting - more on that later} is replacing contouring in a big way and causing major #skingoals in the social media world. So what is it?
Strobing is, essentially, highlighting the high points of your face - cheekbones, chin, brow bones, bridge of your nose, and Cupid's bow. How to do it right?
Choose the right shade!Finishes come in mattes and shimmers {I'm a massive fan of the latter}, and don't discriminate between skintones; but colors matter. You want to select a highlight shade that is lighter than your skin - i.e. pearl hues work on light to medium skintones; whereas gold, bronze, and rose gold shades are lit on dark skintones.
What about formula?LIQUID formulation gives you optimal control and creates a subtle, lit-from-within look. I apply liquid highlighters {my go-to is BECCA's Shimmering Skin Perfector in OPAL} with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge}. CREAM formulation can be applied with your fingertips {use your ring finger for this} and leaves behind a natural dewy, polished finish. POWDER {my personal favorite} packs the most punch and is oh so necessary if you're after a bold, striking glow. I apply mine with the Fan Brush from the e.l.f. 11 Piece Brush Collection.
