pumpkin spice polishes

Babes, fall is officially upon us, and I am craving pumpkin. spice. everything {I know you are too so don't even try to deny it}. With that said, I've rounded up some of the most autumn-esque hues from Fall 2018's collections that will help you spice up your life - and your polish troves!

Essie Fall 2018 Nail Polish Collection in Say It Ain't Soho is a Metallic Copper. Gah girlenas! I have found fall in a bottle and it is glo-ri-ous! Say It Ain't Soho is the polish pumpkin spice latte dreams are made of! The color is deep, rich, and decadent - perfectly encompassing the very essence of all things autumn. Even better? The formula is every bit as flawless as the captivating color. Say It Ain't Soho could easily be a OCW {I opted for two}, and applies like. a. dream. Legit want to wear it forever and ever! This is 2 coats.

OPI Peru Nail Lacquer in Como Se Llama? is a Burgundy Creme. Burgundy polishes during the months of November / December just get me. I mean, they're so incredibly glam without being in your face, amiright?! Como Se Llama? is a brown-leaning burgundy that looks like melted chocolate on the nail {yuuum-o!}. The formula is easy breezy to work with {leveling beautifully and requiring two easy swipes for full coverage}; but has the potential to stain cuticles during application if you're not careful - so keep a Q-Tip nearby. Perfection for fall and well into the winter months! This is 2 coats.

China Glaze Ready to Wear FW'18 Nail Lacquer Collection in Mustard the Courage is a Mustard Yellow Creme. Le sigh. I don't know what it is about the autumn season, but it makes me covet these ugly pretty, pretty ugly nail colors like whoa; and Mustard the Courage is one of the prettiest ugly colors I have ever laid eyes on! Mustard is massive this season - and Mustard the Courage has got. you. covered. This bad boy is the quintessential shade for fall {and Thanksgiving!}, bringing the haute feel of all things harvest to your fingertips! Formula here was easy peasy lemon squeezy - applying flawlessly in two simple swipes. Babes, this is one beauty you need in your life. Trust. This is 2 coats.

Essie Fall 2018 Nail Polish Collection in Stop, Drop & Shop is a Mulberry Red Creme. Yaaaasss, yaaassss, yaaaassss! Babes, finally we have a lemming! Is it just me, or are all fall reds practically identical? But this...this color right here is as necessary for autumn as your beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte. Stop, Drop & Shop is a brilliant brick red meets rusted brown meets burnt pumpkin. The formula is a bit thin, but easy to build; and can be runny if you don't wipe the brush off on the lip of the bottle before applying the color to your nail. Deal breaker? Definitely not! Loving this one for Thanksgiving ladies! This is 2 coats.

China Glaze Ready to Wear FW'18 Nail Lacquer Collection in Swatch Out! is a Pale Copper Foil with Silver Shimmer. Harvest hues are giving me all of the heart eyes rn! Babes, Swatch Out! is my pick for Thanksgiving mani. The color is blindingly beautiful, and def falls into that spicy, pumpkin-apropos category. Coverage is incredible! This bad boy is 100% a OCW; however, I made it a double just to be on the safe side. Whether you do it for the bling or just want a new take on an autumn mani you legit need Swatch Out! in your life. Trust. This is 2 coats.

NOTD: Essie Fall 2018 Nail Polish Collection in Empire Shade of Mind

Two coats of Essie Fall 2018 Nail Polish Collection in Empire Shade of Mind. Charcoal Silver Metallic.

I'm not gonna lie, when I saw that Essie had released this shade for autumn, the first thing that went through my mind was metallic silver? for fall? why? And no, that reaction wasn't based on the fact that I have a love/hate relationship with silver polishes {because I do}; it just felt like it didn't fit with the season. But then I put it on, and saw that it wasn't your basic silver, but a charcoal silver. A fall-apropos hue that felt perfect yet unexpected. But I digress...

Empire Shade of Mind is a vampy shade for the girl who wants something deep without entering oxblood, ebony, or navy territory. It's smoky and seductive in a seriously sophisticated way. And really, who can resist that? Formula was flawless. You can reach opacity in just one coat; but I went with two to try and conceal brushstrokes. Get it girls!

What nail color are you rocking for #ManicureMonday?

NOTD: China Glaze Ready to Wear FW'18 in Throwing Suede

Two coats of China Glaze Ready to Wear FW'18 Nail Lacquer Collection in Throwing Suede. Putty Creme.

Where do I begin?

Throwing Suede is an interesting shade. It's not white, it's not nude; it's more of an in-between vanilla hue with a subtle rosy undertone that is v pretty and will capture the hearts of those who love a clean, neutral nail. For me, however, I found it a bit...boring.

I'm not going to lie; the formula is good {decent consistency, and quick coverage}, but overall I feel as if it's meh, and just doesn't do anything for me. I think this would look best on a darker skintone, as it would really standout. If you're not a fan of neutrals, pass on this one. Womp womp.

OPI Pop Culture Nail Lacquer Collection Mini 4-Pack Swatches + Review

Texture's back alright!

Babes, I was bummed when textured polishes went bye bye, so imagine my excitement when I came across OPI's Pop Culture Nail Lacquer Collection Mini 4-Pack! Initially I thought it was paying homage to Andy Warhol and his brights {which it is}; but it's also a reference to the finish...a playful bubbly that pops! Let's take a peek at the poppin' pretties, shall we?

Days of Pop is a Bubbly Blue Texture. Bright blue polishes always get me, so I had to take this bad boy home! Color-wise, Days of Pop is everything you want for the summer {and 4th of July!}. It's playful and fun; and the bubbly texture coupled with the ocean blue shade give it a mermaid-esque feel. My one qualm: you need a lot of coats to keep VNL at bay. Granted, this is ultra-fast dry; the fact that you have to apply coat after coat after coat can become a little tiring. Not a deal-breaker; but something to keep in mind. This is 4 coats.

Pink Bubbly is a Hot Pink Texture. I've been loving pinks lately, so Pink Bubbly was calling my name, and it. is. perf. This shade is the epitome of girly, and so much fun for the warmer months! The bubbly finish makes painting your nails effortless; and the fact that it dries lightning fast is amaze! Additional bonus: no top coat required. Natch! This is 2 coats.

OPI Pops is a Coral Red Texture. Red is a nail color I tend to reach for only during the fall and winter months, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that OPI Pops was more of a coral-based red than a vixen red, making it perfect for summa-summa-summatime! OPI Pops is like a vacation on your nails - the shade is vibrant and playful without being too OTT. And the formula! Fast-dry, long-wear, and necessary for your next beach outing, okuuurr?! This is 2 coats.

Pop Star is a Poppin' Purple Texture. Purple, purple, purple! I do love a good purple when the temps start to drop; and this bad boy is a double beauty whammy due to the color + that playful pop texture! Pop Star is a great transitional shade - being light enough for those last days of summer, yet dark enough for those first days of autumn. On the nail there's a subtle blue holographic shift; however, it's not visible in photos {womp womp}; nevertheless, the red undertones make it complementary for everyone! This one applies v sheer; but builds beautifully, and has insane staying power. Dig it! This is 3 coats.

PRICE: $14.50 for the 4PC Mini Set; $10.50 for each full-size bottle.

Morgan Taylor Platinum Mini 4 Pack Swatches + Review

Holo may not be my one true love when it comes to nail shades; but I was looking for a little something something out of my comfort zone to switch things up a bit, and couldn't resist snagging the Morgan Taylor Platinum Mini 4 Pack. Yes, the shades are definitely more girly glam than my typical nail fare; but they are so. much. fun. for channeling your inner mermaid / unicorn / what have you! Prepare to be hypnotized!

Diamonds In The Sky is a Blue Holographic. So shine bright, tonight, you and I, we're beautiful like diamonds in the sky... Babes, I liiive for a good blue nail color, so I couldn't resist snagging this bad boy! Diamonds In The Sky is a gorgeous lemming of a shade that will standout in your nail collection! The holo effect picks up so perfectly in sunlight and legit makes it look like diamonds. Formula here was amazing. Yes, it's long-lasting; but the real standout point is that it applies seamlessly - swipe once, swipe twice, boom you're good to go! This is 2 coats.

It's Lit! is a Lilac Holographic. OMG babes I'm a unicorn! Okay, not really, but this color is giving me all of the unicorn vibes! It's Lit! is a brilliantly blinding lilac holographic that just. feels. magical. The lilac base mixed with the silver particles is just breathtaking; and that formula ain't too shabby either! Two easy peasy swipes and your tips are dazzling for days. Huzzah! This is 2 coats.

Liquid Bling is a Silver Holographic. Le sigh... is it too early to start thinking about NYE nail colors? No? Awesomeness, because this one is my top pick! If you love silver polishes, Liquid Bling is the crème de la crème because it shines, like. whoa. The formula is a liiiittle thin and sheer on coat one; but it builds to opacity beautifully with literally no muss or fuss. Highly recommend this beauty for all of your holiday 2018 gatherings! This is 3 coats.

Holo Lover! is a Pink Holographic. Holo {not to be confused with shimmer or metallic} isn't really my thang; but I was feeling unicorn and stardust vibes so I grabbed this beauty. Holo Lover! {gotta love that nod to SJP's Carrie Bradshaw} is a gawgeous pink with magical qualities - specifically, the way in which it catches the light, casting prismatic designs around you. Holo Lover! dries matte, so you def need a top coat to bring that holo to life. My one qualm? I had chips on two fingers in less than 24 hours requiring touch-ups. Kiiind of a pain. This is 2 coats.

AVAILABILITY: Ulta.

PRICE: $17.50 for the 4PC Mini Set; $11.99 for each full-size bottle.

NOTD: OPI Peru Nail Lacquer Collection in Somewhere Over the Rainbow Mountains

Two coats of OPI Peru Nail Lacquer in Somewhere Over the Rainbow Mountains. Rosy Nude Creme.

This shade! Honestly, I've contemplated Somewhere Over he Rainbow Mountains over the past few days, and I still can't figure out whether I like it or loathe it; thus, I'm going to chalk it up to a love/hate relationship.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow Mountains is an interesting shade for fall - falling into the nude category; but being sliiightly darker, so it adds a bit of depth. I actually like it for autumn, as it has a cozy, café au lait feel to it; I'm just not sure if I like it on me. For those of you who are feeling it, however, the formula was primo - applying in a smooth, fluid fashion, and drying quickly. If basics are your thing, you'll dig this beauty!

NOTD: OPI Nail Lacquer Collection in A-Rose At Dawn...Broke By Noon

Two coats of OPI Nail Lacquer in A-Rose At Dawn...Broke By Noon. Rosy Mauve Metallic.

Not my typical color, I know, but I couldn't decide on a shade for the week, so I played Eeny, meeny, miny, moe {because clearly I'm 5} and landed on this little lady.

A-Rose At Dawn...Broke By Noon is a pink with a grown-up feel to it due to the metallic finish. The formula is flawless, serving up even coats and no brushstrokes in minutes; with a wear-time exceeding the 5 day mark. Would I wear it again? Honestly, no, because it's simply not my kind of color; but if it's a hue that you think is haute you need to grab it stat girlies!
