be the belle of the...prom

Though my v short stature tends to leave me gravitating towards mini hemlines for nearly all occasions, there are certain events in a girl's life {ahem...prom, for one} that require...how shall I put this in simple terms? Drama! We're talking Dynasty-esque, royal family inspired high drama dripping with decadence {and sequins, rhinestones, diamonds, beads, and pearls!}, spun in tulle {or ruffles, lace, organza, and taffeta!}, and Gone With the Wind hemlines sweeping the ballroom floor. In other words...for your big day this year, forgo minis in favor of prom ball gowns.

Too much? Let's try not enough. Prom is no longer a little dance held in miniscule high school gymnasiums across the country, decorated with dollar store streamers {hung from basketball nets and bleachers}, and accented with cheesy tunes that the student body is expected to groove to. Rather, like online shopping {thus, Prom dresses online}, prom has become a can't miss, blowout event laden with many essentials.

First up, the promposal. Oh boys...approaching a girl at her locker and asking her to be your date for prom is so not gonna cut it nowadays. It's all about the movie moment invite. Brainstorm, research other promposals, and come up with something killer that will seriously wow her {otherwise, she'll find someone who will - true story}. Second, dinner and a limo {because what girl doesn't want the opportunity to stick her perfectly coiffed and made-up head out the sunroof on her way to one of the most memorable nights of her life?}. Last, but by no means least, the dreeess! We've been talking about ball gowns here, so let me introduce you to 6 of my personal faves!

Trumpet/Mermaid Sweetheart Tulle Floor-length Beading Prom Dresses
{The color is hypnotic - and the perfect complement to the silver detailing.}

Sexy Spaghetti Straps Backless Lace Wedding Dress
{There's something to be said for sweet simplicity.}

Ball Gown Strapless Organza Floor-length Beading Quinceanera Dresses
{Don't you just love the watercolor vibe of the color combo?}

Glamorous Long Sleeves Lace V-Neck A-Line Wedding Dress
{The bodice has the perfect, Little Mermaid, under-the-sea thing going on, amiright?}

Princess Sweetheart Tulle Floor-length Lace Prom Dresses
{Who else is getting Glinda the Good Witch vibes off of this pretty? Absolutely adoring the way the silver detailing looks paired with the saccharine pink!}

Trumpet/Mermaid Sweetheart Tulle Floor-length Beading Prom Dresses
{Frozen. That is the first thing that comes to mind when I look at this gorgeous gown!}

Which ball gown would you love to find hanging in your closet?

I'm usually not a fan of those dresses but I fell for the third one and its colour and seaside/mermaid vibe, it's perfect!
