july 2016 empties!

I've seen everyone from beauty/fashion editors {I seriously hope you're following Eva Chen babes!} to bloggers {I'm looking at you Ashley} take part in this monthly tag; and, given the fact that it looked like so much fun, I had to jump on the bandwagon. Thus, today I bring you my July 2016 empties! June was a slow month for me, so there isn't a lot to showcase, but I think you'll like!
Jergens BB Hand Cream SPF 20 {$7.29} was a total impulse buy for me, but one that was highly successful. After being completely frustrated with countless hand creams, this is the first one that actually worked for my skin - hydrating and smoothing it. The texture is slightly tacky, so it leaves your hands feeling protected from the environment. Bonus: it features SPF 20, so it also protects from the sun. RE-BUY.

A lot of you ask about how I keep my cuticles looking so good considering how often I change my nail polish. This JULEP Essential Cuticle Oil {$18.00} is my Holy Grail. I apply it not just along the cuticle line, but all over the nail, and all the way down to the first knuckle once daily and I get brilliant results. Absolute RE-BUY {I always have extras on hand}.

Mascara is my kryptonite so I'm always trying new ones out. Usually I fall upon more misses than hits, but in the case of Lancome's HYPNÔSE DRAMA Instant Full Body Volume Mascara in EXCESSIVE BLACK {$27.50} I was completely blown away. The brush is slightly curved/crooked {think of a caterpillar walking}, making it easy to coat every lash; while the color truly lives up to its name, giving me the darkest lashes eva! I love this for creating that truly dramatic doll eyes look. Occasional RE-BUY {the pricetag is a bit too high for constant use}.

Another deluxe sample. I started using AHAVA Deadsea Water Mineral Hand Cream {$23.00} right after finishing my tube of Jergens BB Hand Cream SPF 20, so it was following in v big footsteps; nevertheless, it held its own. Though slightly thinner in texture than the Jergens, I found that AHAVA's absorbed quickly, and left my hands feeling moisturized. The smell, similar to Baby Powder, though inoffensive, could become a bit intolerable after a time; while the price seems excessive considering it doesn't offer SPF, or as decent results as the Jergens. NOT a re-buy

Have you tried any of these products before? Thoughts?

Its good to hear about Jergens, I've been wondering about this product. I'm still using a hand lotion from ESSIE since Christmas and that has helped my nails a lot. I rarely ever go for a manicure anymore. Wonderful post!

Loved your reviews. Always great to find a sunscreen in something you use in your daily morning routine.

Have heard so much lovely about the Lancome mascara and this just sounded too good! Am a mascara person too and simply believe that there will always be a constant search for the best one hahah, or perhaps it's just me wanting to try new ones! Xx

I love Ashley. :)
So, thanks for sharing your cuticle secret with us!
I've been obsessing over my nails lately, so this is appreciated.
I haven't tried Lancome Mascara, surprisingly, like you I'm all about mascara. Have you tried Tarte?

Aaah this Lancome mascara is everywhere and I still haven't had a chance to give it a try because of the price but hopefully that will change sometime soon! :)
