Deborah Lippmann Sunrise, Sunset Nail Polish Set Swatches + Review

I spotted this Deborah Lippmann Sunrise, Sunset Nail Polish Set a few days before the Sephora VIB Sale started, so you know it was the first thing I Added To Cart once the sale launched. While, admittedly, the colors aren't super unique; I love how accurately they represent the whole sunrise to sunset sentiment. And the fact that they are seriously vacay-worthy makes them such a steal for summer 2017. Peep the pretty below!

Soak Up The Sun is a Pale Yellow Cream. Le sigh. This color is legit giving me all of the feels rn. Why don't more polish companies release yellows like this? Those pale hues that read more french vanilla than yellow? Obsessed! Soak Up The Sun is hands down my fave shade from this six-piece - it's one of those super wearable shades that make you look uber tan, and just feel clean and perfect. This one was slightly thicker than the rest of the collection; but still an overall breeze to work with. Unfortunately, this guy is camera shy, so you can't see how pretty the color is. Womp womp. This is 3 coats.

Sun Daze is a Light Peach Cream. OMG babes, never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would love this shade so much, but it is just fire! I was expecting a baby pink, but Sun Daze is a true pale peach, and I just can't get enough! The formula here was slightly thinner than the rest of the collection - requiring triple coats as opposed to the two coats needed for the rest of the Sunrise, Sunset stars; but I'm not complaining because it is so worth it! This is 3 coats.

Ultralight Beam is a Coral Cream. I lovelovelove a good coral once the summer starts, and Ultralight Beam may be one of my favorites yet! While some corals favor pink undertones, this particular one leans more orange - so it's a great choice for summer pedis! Application was flawless - this one is the perfect consistency for achieving an easy, breezy, no-fuss mani {even if you're a beginner!}. If you're seeking a fab vacay shade, keep this bad boy on your radar! This is 2 coats.

Fire On The Horizon is a Red Orange Cream. I rarely go for reds and oranges, but sometimes a color just gets me, and Fire On The Horizon is proof of that. This color tho...I love it! Fire On The Horizon is one of those blood orange shades that is perfect for all of you red mani fans looking for something fresh for the summer. This color in particular is a top fave of mine from this collection because it screams high-temps and barely-there bikinis. The formula here was brilliant - not too thick, not too thin. This is 2 coats.

Dusk And Summer is a Magenta Cream. Dusk And Summer was the color I was least excited about from this collection - not because it's ugly by any means {it's gorgeous tbh}, but because this color has been done so much in recent polish collections that I'm just over it. If you don't have this color in your personal collection, however, you'll dig it. The formula here was v easy to work with. I will admit that it was thinner than the other shades in the collection; but it still reached opacity quickly. This is 2 coats.

After The Glow is a Bright Purple Cream. Purple isn't typically my favorite nail shade; but I'm really loving this one right here. After The Glow is one of those purples with berry undertones that make it super apropos for summer, and prevent it from looking like a fall hue. The formula here was fantastic, being both smooth and creamy. My one qualm was chipping. This one started chipping after day one, and continued in that fashion until I finally removed it. Sure, the color is electrifying; but I found it to be too high maintenance of a mani to repeat-wear. Tossing this one. This is 2 coats.

AVAILABILITY: SEPHORA, Barneys New York, and Nordstrom.

PRICE: $36.00 for the Set.

NOTD: NAILS INC. Acai Bowl in Oxford Terrace

Two coats of NAILS INC. Acai Bowl in Oxford Terrace. Red Creme.

Y'all know that red is so not my thing when it comes to nail colors, but I'm actually digging this one.

Oxford Terrace has a brighter undertone than your typical classic red, making it read more summer apropos than fall. It has a fiery feel that would instantly make a splash on the beach; while sticking true to its berry-inspired roots.

This is probably the easiest red I have ever worked with - applying beautifully from swipe one due to the creamy formula, and wide, flat brush that evenly coats every nail with minimal effort.

{glossies made me do it} OPI Nail Lacquer Malibu Pier Pressure

PRESS SAMPLE

I missed last month's Glossies Made Me Do It, but I'm back at it again for the start of summer - and bringing you all a little something something that you need in your life for the warmer months! For those of you who need a refresher, Glossies Made Me Do It is a monthly feature I partake in with Lauren of Shooting Stars Mag and Ashley of Happy. Pretty. Sweet. wherein each one of us selects something {a recipe, a book, a lace frontal hairstyle...} from a monthly magazine {glossy}, and try it for ourselves {made me do it}. Find out what glossies made me do for June; and visit both Lauren and Ashley today to see what glossies made them do!

Y'all know that beauty is my weakness, so of course I opted for a little summer glam for this month's installment with an ultra-girly polish! Being a Cali girl, I knew I had to try OPI's Malibu Pier Pressure when I spotted it in the Beauty piece {written by Erin Stovall} of the June 2017 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine {page 56}. Oddly enough, it appeared on my doorstep direct from OPI right before I purchased it myself, so I'm preeeeetty sure it was fate!

Malibu Pier Pressure, which retails for $10.00, is a part of the recently-released OPI California Dreaming Nail Lacquer Collection, and will quickly wiggle its way into your bright-loving heart. The shade is described as a true cotton candy pink, and will pair perfectly with itty bitty bikinis and bellinis from summer's start to finish! I haven't tried it out myself yet; but I'm planning to apply it to tips + toes this weekend for a girly pop of color!

june crush list!

june
1. all of the cold shoulder Shoulders are basically my favorite body part to highlight, so I am seriouslyseriouslyseriously obsessing over cold shoulder everythang. Currently I'm totes crushing on alice + olivia's Gia Ruffle Cold Shoulder Blouse in DUSTY ROSE {that color tho!}, and Line & Dot's Rudi Cold Shoulder Halter Top in SKY {the perfect print for spring/summer!}.

2. girly gloss I'm all about strong eyes + sweet lips when it comes to beauty, so I'm loving all of the girly gloss on shelves right now - it's simple for summer, and just adds the perfect touch to your pout. My current faves? MAKE UP FOR EVER's Artist Plexi-Gloss in 202 SWEET PINK, SEPHORA COLLECTION's Outrageous Effect Volume Lip Gloss in 1 UNIVERSAL VOLUME, and Marc Jacobs Beauty's Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in 346 RAH RAH!.

3. rose gold Typically I gravitate to all things silver or gold, but I am so loving rose gold for summer - it perfectly complements sunkissed skin and is awesome if you're looking for something different from your basic gold. I own these GORJANA Taner Extra Large Hoop Earrings in two colors, and am planning on adding Rose Gold to my collection; and though Lana Jewelry's Blake Lariat Necklace in ROSE GOLD is out of my budget, a girl can dream, amiright?!

4. sunkissed skin I lovelovelove the look of sunny, sunkissed skin {especially when the temps rise}, so I'm forever on the lookout for beauty products that give you that golden glow. I just bought this Sephora Favorites Sunkissed Glow kit which is packed with pretties that will help you get your tan glow on. Next on my radar? bareMinerals' Invisible Bronze™ Powder Bronzer in FAIR TO LIGHT.

{what's in my} ipsy may 2017 glam bag!

Kinda sorta bummed that there was no nail polish in my ipsy May Glam Bag, but this Urban Decay Highlight in Sin + JellyPongPong Eyeshadow Duo more than makes up for it! I mean, helllooo gorgeous!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with ipsy, it is a beauty subscription service that costs $10 per month {awesome deal IMO}, and consists of a collectible makeup bag {can also double as a clutch} along with 5 beauty samples that are customized to your personal beauty profile {which you can change/update at anytime}. I love getting subscription boxes, but don't have a ton of extra cash to spare, so I find ipsy to be the best value as each month's bags are adorable, the products are of fantastic quality, and their stylists are top-notch {and some of my fave beauty bloggers}. That being said, let's get to the bag!

May's theme was SUMMER FRIDAY {think friyay feels}. Inside my bag was a deluxe sample of Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter in SIN, full size Jelly Pong Pong Supercharged Super Intense Eyeshadow Duo in ELECTRIC {retail $22.95!}, deluxe sample of Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in NO. 1 BLACK NOIR, deluxe sample of Hey Honey Besame Mucho Lip Balm, and a Luxie Beauty Luxie Dreamcatcher Precision Foundation Brush 660 {retail $23.00!}.

Ladies a rust-meets-bronze-meets-gold shadow is like kryptonite to me, so you know I had all the heart eyes when I unbagged this Jelly Pong Pong Supercharged Super Intense Eyeshadow Duo in ELECTRIC. This little duo right here is everything! I'm not gonna lie, the packaging is a little cheap + flimsy feeling; but the product itself is just lush! Not only is it highly pigmented {this is one swipe!}, but it blends beautifully and can be used wet or dry. Obsessed!

Y'all know that cat eyes are basically my beauty signature, so I'll never refuse an eyeliner. Though I typically reach for a liquid liner, the positive reviews for this Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in NO. 1 BLACK NOIR were enough to pique my interest, and I have to admit...I really liked the results. While this isn't my fave for creating wings; I do love it for tightlining the upper lashes. The formula is incredibly smooth and creamy, so it glides on easily with no tugging or pulling. Bonus: this bad boy is waterproof, so it's perfect for beach / pool days.

Luxie Beauty makes some of my all-time favorite makeup brushes, so finding this Luxie Beauty
Luxie Dreamcatcher Precision Foundation Brush 660
in my bag was such. a. treat. I don't wear foundation myself, so this baby is being used solely for powder highlight application, and it is amazing. The tapered bristles are super soft, and pick up the perfect amount of product. Keep the Luxie Beauty goodies coming ipsy!

Can we just take a moment to swoon over this Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter in SIN? I mean, seriously. Sin is a super finely milled champagne-hued highlight that gives a gorgeous, natural glow to skin. I, personally, prefer a highlight with more of a gold cast to it, so I don't think this will get a lot of mileage on my cheekbones; but I love it for highlighting the inner corners of my eyes, and browbone {also works great as an eyeshadow}. If you like a highlight that can be worn subtle or striking {this one builds-up so beautifully!} you'll def adore this one!

Lip balms come and go, but this Hey Honey Besame Mucho Lip Balm is one that will be in my life for a v long time. Why? It basically works as a lip mask, re-hydrating your pout with each coat you apply. I love to slather on loads right before bed, and let it work its magic overnight - and it so does! I consistently wake up to incredibly soft, smooth, kiss-me lips, and who doesn't love that?!

Last Friday the book-to-movie Everything, Everything hit theaters, and today...you have the chance to take home a film-inspired Prize Pack!

ABOUT THE FILM {visit the Official Website}: From Warner Bros. Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures comes the romantic drama Everything, Everything, directed by Stella Meghie and based on the bestselling book of the same name by Nicola Yoon.

What if you couldn’t touch anything in the outside world? Never breathe in the fresh air, feel the sun warm your face...or kiss the boy next door? Everything, Everything tells the unlikely love story of Maddy, a smart, curious and imaginative 18-year-old who due to an illness cannot leave the protection of the hermetically sealed environment within her house, and Olly, the boy next door who won’t let that stop them.

Maddy is desperate to experience the much more stimulating outside world, and the promise of her first romance. Gazing through windows and talking only through texts, she and Olly form a deep bond that leads them to risk everything to be together...even if it means losing everything.

Everything, Everything stars Amandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games) as Maddy and Nick Robinson (Jurassic World) as Olly. The film also stars Ana de la Reguera (Sun Belt Express) and Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls).

NOTD: butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Fruit Dove

Two coats of butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Fruit Dove. Pink with Green Shimmer.

Babes, there is so much visible green shimmer in the bottle of this one; but on the nail it's legit invisible. And the so-called pink? Not here ladies - this is 100% deep mauve. Despite being vastly different than what I was expecting, I'll be honest: I absolutely love this shade.

Though not a bright, it reminds me so much of a berry smoothie, and who doesn't love that for summer?! Formula was fabulous - it feels a bit like a texture polish when you apply it, so it dries fast; but, it's easy to even it out.

NAILS INC. Acai Bowl Nail Polish Collection Swatches + Review

Summer is all about fresh, fun, flirty colors, so when I spotted the Acai Bowl Nail Polish Collection from nails inc. at Sephora, I didn't hesitate in clicking Add to Cart, because it encompassed all of the above. Inspired by the ever-trendy {and yummy!} acai bowls that have legit taken over Instagram, this quartet is bursting with sizzling shades that will bring a vacay to your fingertips. Even better? Each has a brilliant, easy to work with formula, and an awesome brush that makes painting a breeze!

Oxford Terrace is a Red Creme. This is 2 coats.

Eaton Row is a Cool Lilac Creme. Colors like this always make me giddy for spring - they just feel so fresh, clean, and new. That said, in comparison to some of the other brights in this quartet {which I am apparently loving atm}, Eaton Row wasn't as favored by me as expected. Yes, it's a beautiful color; but it's one of those lilacs that leans dusty instead of bright, so it wasn't as popping as I'd hoped. Nevertheless, the formula was fab, and super easy to work with. This is 2 coats.

St. James Street is a Warm Nude Creme. Ladies if mannequin hands aren't your thing, but you're craving a nude nail, this is one beauty you need to check out! St. James Place leans peachy, so it feels less boring/harsh than your typical nude, while still giving that super clean, polished look. My one ish with this bad boy? There was a bit of shedding from the brush which was a royal pain, but not a dealbreaker. This is 2 coats.

Hurlingham Gardens is a Rich Berry Creme. Ooh ladies I think I've found my favorite shade from this four-piece! Hurlingham Gardens is, IMO, the most acai-inspired shade given its rich berry color which is insanely fresh and beautiful to look at! Like the rest of the collection, Hurlingham Gardens had a brilliant formula that fell just shy of OCW territory. You'll absolutely adore this one if you're a fan of the fuchsia family. This is 2 coats.

AVAILABILITY: SEPHORA and Urban Outfitters.

PRICE: $25.00 for the 4PC Mini Set.

april 2017 empties!

It's veeerrry possible that I received this Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in BLACK {$22.00} in an ipsy bag; but I honestly can't remember, so let's just leave it at that, shall we? Babes, I was so excited to try this bad boy out, but I was majorly disappointed. The color itself is positively brilliant {an intense black}; my issue lies within the pen. It goes dry so frequently while you're applying it, that you legit want to throw it across the room. The constant stopping makes it, IMO, impossible to work with. NOT a re-buy.

I have a few holy grail mascaras, and Too Faced's Better Than Sex Mascara {$23.00} is def near the tip top of that list. Ladies, if you lovelovelove huge lashes, you cannot be without this beauty! The hourglass-shaped brush has super soft bristles that lift, separate, and lengthen to create a true false lash effect; while the intense black color brings loads of attention to your lashes! I have gone through more tubes of this than I can count, and will forever recommend it! DEFINITE RE-BUY.

The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge {$6.99} was the first beauty blender I ever bought, so I'll always have mad love for it; but over the past few months I've been experimenting with different shapes and densities, and I've found that this one just doesn't compare to a lot of others on the market. I prefer more of a dual-tipped construction that has a firmer feel to it {which I believe blends and conceals under the eyes better}. This one features a flat side that I don't even use; and is too soft for my liking. NOT a re-buy.

True story: I bought Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in BELLINI {$9.98} because I liked the shade name; but the color was stunning, so it quickly became a staple in my makeup bag. This one is high-gloss with a peachy pink hue that is just gorgeous on - especially when paired with smoky eyes. My one qualm {and this is a dealbreaker}: I found that it really dried out my lips after a time. Not where my lips were chapped, but where they felt like they needed a ton of hydration. Not cool IMO. NOT a re-buy.

Have you tried any of these products before? Thoughts?

Two coats of butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Nimbus Cloud. White Grey Creme.

You know what I L-O-V-E about this one? The name! It totes makes me think of Harry Potter and the prized Nimbus 2000 broomstick!

You babes all know how much I love my whites during the spring and summer months, and while Nimbus Cloud isn't your everyday stark white, it definitely has enough of a white tone to it to make me love it!

The formula here is so fantastic! This right here is a light shade ladies, but it was opaque, rich, and creamy from coat one and required v little to build to this gorgeous hue! You need this one in your life girls!
