OPI Iceland Collection Classic Nail Lacquer Mini 4PC Swatches + Review

True story: I have found 99.5% of 2017's nail polish releases to be underwhelming, but the entirety of the OPI Iceland Collection captured my eye from press releases alone, and made me run, not walk to the store to grab the OPI Iceland Collection Classic Nail Lacquer Mini 4PC Set, and I was so not disappointed. Babes, this quartet is pure. brilliance. It leans more winter than fall for me; but the shades will easily make you feel ridiculously cozy and feel utterly essential for my favorite thing: sweater weather!

Reykjavik Has All the Hot Spots is a Bronze Rose Metallic Shimmer. Ermagersh I'm in love! Ladies, you know this isn't the type of shade I typically gravitate towards but this beauty has totes captured my heart! Reykjavik Has All the Hot Spots is one of those shades that is one of those shades that is feminine with a kickbutt edginess that feels utterly perfect for fall. While the formula was sliiiightly thin, it builds beautifully to create the gorgeousness you see here. Get it girls! This is 3 coats.

Suzi & the Arctic Fox is Dark Purple Creme. True story: the color description of this one right here is the most inaccurate thing ever! Dark purple? For me it reads more dusty charcoal gray - but that's just my opinion. While I love a dark and vampy hue for the cold weather months, Suzi & the Arctic Fox didn't do much for me. I found it to be fairly muddy and boring, and it was a bit too chippy for my taste - requiring multiple touch-ups during the five days that I wore it. Tossing it. Womp womp. This is 2 coats.

Aurora Berry-Alis is a Fuchsia Pink Creme. Hey baby, hey baby, hey...! Ooh ladies if you're looking for a fall hue with a flash of fun you truly cannot look further than Aurora Berry-Alis! This baby has an autumn-apropos dusty, muted undertone coupled with a flash of bright that feels ultra-perf for one of my personal favorite things: sweater weather! Formula here is perfection - great coverage, zero chips, and ab-so-lutely gawgeous! This is 2 coats.

Less Is Norse is a Deep Dusty Blue Creme. Helllllloooo lemming! Out of all of the nail colors I have in my collection, not one could be classified as a dupe of this bad boy - and that's saying something. Less Is Norse is a brilliant blue creme that reminds me ever so slightly of denim, and truly feels like the perfect deep and icy hue for chilly temps. Formula here is a breeze to work with - two simple coats and you are good. to. go. This is 2 coats.

NOTD: Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in After The Glow

Two coats of Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in After The Glow. Bright Purple Cream.

Purple isn't typically my favorite nail shade; but I'm really loving this one right here.

After The Glow is one of those purples with berry undertones that make it super apropos for summer, and prevent it from looking like a fall hue.

The formula here was fantastic, being both smooth and creamy. My one qualm was chipping. This one started chipping after day one, and continued in that fashion until I finally removed it. Sure, the color is electrifying; but I found it to be too high maintenance of a mani to repeat-wear. Tossing this one.

Dusk And Summer was the color I was least excited about from Deborah Lippmann's summer collection - not because it's ugly by any means {it's gorgeous tbh}, but because this color has been done so much in recent polish collections that I'm just over it. If you don't have this color in your personal collection, however, you'll dig it.

The formula here was v easy to work with. I will admit that it was thinner than the other shades in the collection; but it still reached opacity quickly.

OPI California Dreaming 4PC Mini Set Swatches + Review

As a Cali girl I honestly couldn't not buy OPI's California Dreaming 4PC Mini Set when I spotted it at Ulta; but it was kiiiind of a letdown for me. Don't get me wrong, the formulas were brilliant, and the shades beautiful; but I found that all four colors included were far too similar {with a couple feeling more apropos for fall}. Take a looksee below!

This Is Not Whine Country is a Merlot Cream. Kicking this post off with swatches of one of my least favorite colors from the collection. Don't get me wrong, This Is Not Whine Country would be perf for fall; but as a summer shade? Just not feeling it. I'm also not feeling the formula. Such. A. Pain. It's thin and sticky, making it nearly impossible to get a truly even coat. Plus, even with a trio of layers, VNL is still visible. Womp womp. This is 3 coats.

Malibu Pier Pressure is a Cotton Candy Pink Cream. Fact: Pinks like Malibu Pier Pressure are basically a summer essential - they're simply too hot and bubbly not to add to your mani mix! I was a liiiittle bit surprised at how many coats this baby needed to get full coverage; but the formula was easy to work with and the end result is so girly and fun that I can't complain. A word of warning: this one dries matte, so you need a great top coat to score that killer shine! This is 3 coats.

Santa Monica Beach Peach is a Punchy Orange Cream. Don't let the name fool you, Santa Monica Beach Peach is the farthest thing from a peach shade, and I'm kind of not okay with that. In general, I'm not huge on orange shades; but this one in particular is a fail for me, because it doesn't even feel like a summer orange. Rather, the red undertones give it a fall feel {much like This Is Not Whine Country}. Formula was fab though. This is 2 coats.

Time For A Napa is a Bubbly Hot Coral Cream. I alwaysalwaysalways gravitate towards pink-leaning corals when the temps rise, so Time For A Napa immediately caught my eye - and not just because the name is too cute for words! This bad boy right here was made for the beach! Though the color of Time For A Napa is overall bright, it applies v thin, so you do need multiple coats to avoid VNL. The good news? It's a low-maintenance mani, and stays intact for up to five days. Huzzah! This is 3 coats.

I live for baby blue nail colors year-round; so I had to scoop this one up when I spotted it at Target. Let me just say: best. decision. ever.

Babes, Babe Blue blows all other baby blue polishes out of the water! The periwinkle undertones give it a unique bit of extra dimension that is so pretty - especially for summer! Formula was flawless too - two easy coats and you're good to go!
