Sweets for Your iPhone: Case-Mate Drip Ice Cream Cone Case Review

Summer can be summed up in six ways: bikinis, wedge sandals, oversized sunglasses, cutoff denim shorts, the beach, and…ice cream. While I equate pints of Ben & Jerry’s AmeriCone Dream and Chocolate Therapy to bad breakups; to me, a dripping ice cream cone is like an unofficial summer mascot. So, when Case-Mate gave me the opportunity to select a new outfit for my iPhone, I zoned in on the new Sweets Trio – ultimately bypassing the ultra-adorable Delight Cupcake Case and Swirl Lollipop Case in favor of the Drip Ice Cream Cone Case.

I have owned a number of Case-Mate cases over the past few months; and from personal experience, I have found that they are always consistent in relation to bulkiness. While the Drip Ice Cream Cone Case features 3-D cutouts illustrating sprinkles (the cutest detail ever!), the ice cream, and the cone itself; the case in its entirety remains slim and sophisticated, protecting your phone without making it feel hefty. Plus, the textured silicone provides for a tighter, easier grip (so there are less accidental drops).

Online, I feel that the colors appear slightly lighter than they do in real life. In reality, the case itself is more of a mint/turquoise hue; and the ice cream is a deeper pink color. While I love sorbet/pastel colors, I actually prefer the deeper shades, as they pair so perfectly with denim for the summer – and add such a fun pop of personality to your phone!

Summer of ASOS

Though I often spend upwards of three hours a week browsing through the wondrous wares of ASOS – especially their selection of all-occasion dresses; I have never before purchased anything from the site – instead, building an extensive Wish List of must-haves. So you can imagine my excitement when I was offered the opportunity to go on a mini ASOS shopping spree a few weeks back; resulting in a collection of summer-perfect accessories and, one of my favorite things…beauty supplies.

♥ASOS Metal Bar Detail Envelope Clutch - I ♥ the aesthetic of envelope clutches, and have been searching for one in a color that was playful enough for summer afternoons coupled with denim, yet sophisticated enough for balmy evenings coupled with dresses. This Clutch fit the bill. I purchased the Rose Pink, which I find leans more towards the Coral family (exactly what I was looking for); which features gold-tone metal accents on the flap and sides - très glamorous!

♥ASOS Wrapped Claw Ring in Gold - My overall style is girly / feminine, but I love edgy accessories like the Claw and Thorn Rings from Elizabeth and James (which are beyond gorgeous but completely out of my price range); thus, I instantly gravitated to the Wrapped Claw Ring in Gold. What I love is that this is undoubtedly a statement ring, but it is also very subtle and dainty. Not to mention an extreme conversation-starter – I’ve received compliments galore whenever I wear it.

♥Pieces Helle Jade Stone Ring - It was love at first sight with this ring. The antique, scrollwork aesthetic coupled with the diamante detailing adds such a rich, Monarch-like vibe to any outfit. I am still in awe over the beauty featured in this piece – especially for the price ($10.44).

♥Rimmel London Vinyl Lip Gloss in Take A Chance - I’m a sucker for lip gloss, and have never before tried Rimmel London products, so I thought this was the perfect time for a little beauty experimentation. Out of the six Vinyl Lip Gloss shades available on ASOS, I chose Take A Chance. Take A Chance is a nude lip gloss with flecks of subtle pink and gold shimmer, that looks super glam when the light catches it.

And that, my loves, is the end of my ASOS shopping spree!

knomo London’s Aurora: The New Royal of Your Accessory Collection

Aurora is a name that I have always associated with the flaxen-haired Princess Aurora of Sleeping Beauty - originally modeled after the ambrosial Audrey Hepburn, and known for her elegance, poise, and kindness. Quilting, on the other hand, has always been a factor synonymous with luxury, sophistication, and Chanel. Thus, when I was given the chance to select a laptop bag for review from knomo London, I instantly gravitated towards the Aurora Zip Tote in Parchment, which epitomizes the best of both worlds – an elegant aesthetic, and a sumptuous sophistication.

Constructed out of quilted nylon, and featuring silver hardware and Saffiano trim exterior; the Aurora is the absolute perfect carryall for the fashion-forward girl seeking to tote her tech accessories from Point A to Point B in luxurious style – and doubles as the perfect posh prezzie for Mother’s Day. But what I personally found to be even more fabulous was the versatility level of this particular piece.

The Aurora is an expandable tote; therefore, you can unzip the sides to offer more room, or keep them zipped up tight to fit just your laptop. I myself used the Aurora a few days ago during a commute to Los Angeles by train, wherein I unzipped the sides for expansion, and was able to pop in my laptop, as well as the other essentials I needed for the day – makeup case, a blazer, and extra pairs of shoes. It served as my ‘Throw It All In’ Accessory from dawn ‘til dusk, and earned more compliments than I can count for both its beauty and durability – a dynamic duo of achievements that results in a verdict of five (pink) hearts from this girl on the go!
