Tightwad Tuesday: Herve Leger Double Strap Bandage Dress for Less

My loves, to your left feast your eyes upon Herve Leger’s daring Double Strap Bandage Dress; to your right prepare to swoon over Arden B.’s heavenly Halter Cutout Bandage Dress.

Though the Leger sports a more intricate back and is bright blue in hue (as opposed to the coral of the Arden B.); for a mere $69.00, in comparison to the $1,150.00 required to take le haute Herve home, it is every bit as luscious as the Leger, and enough of a bargain to allow the frugalista to indulge in both colors (black and coral), as well as a fabulous new pair of shoes!

Tell me, kittens…will you be a big spender and go for Herve Leger, or be thrifty and spring for Arden B.?

Fashionably yours!

Thanks to Saks Fifth Avenue and Arden B. for the pictures.

Such a sassy frock...I am 99.9% sure that I couldn't pull it off :) Happy Tuesday, dear! xo Cat

Erika, I'm passing on both of these and sticking with my sweater, skinnies and leather boots :)

These dresses are fabulous, but I'd have to lose another 10-20 pounds before I could wear one. Hope you have a good Tuesday.

I still can't get over the fact that you are by far the best lust/must-er out there.

Love the color of the Arden B. There seems to be a lot more tucking with the Herve Leger but I'd go with the Arden B. in a pinch!

It's a little too "80's" for me. I've just barely begun to wear Hammer Pants again, so I still have ways to go before I can confidently strut in this frock. Baby steps! Never the less, it is still a fabulous alternative for a fraction of the price!

I definately prefer the blue but the price difference is just insane!! x

I prefer the one from Arden B.

I have to say that I like the Arden B one much better! The color on it is fantastic :) But, I am worried that I wouldn't be able pull it off!

I really like the arden b one. I love herve leger bandage dresses. I feel like it's always really hard to find comparable ones that don't look tacky. This one is pefect!

I like both, but the Arden B. one does look a little bit more chipper, with the color. Take care!

Love both of these dresses, but I prefer the color of the Arden B one! :)

What yummy cleavage this puppy can give you... I am more comfortable with showing leg - as you may have noticed - but hey, only fools don't change;)

These dresses are amazing!! I really must say I love them both. But the Herve Leger is the most gorgeous thing I've laid my eyes on in a while. I want!

OMG..can't believe the original cost THAT MUCH. You can be just as sexy at 70 bucks.

StyleIDnet said...

I can not believe it. I love your blog, love the things I find here.
I can't believe the difference in price... they are identical. I will be thrifty, for sure.

The Arden B just can't stand up to the impeccable construction and fit of the Herve Lager one!

I think I'd need to go on a major fitness streak before I was brave enough to rock either! love both of the colors.

Although a bit tight fitting for me, I am in love with the Herve Leger one. The colour is gorgeous.

I can't wear either b/c I'd resemble a stuffed sausage. That being said if I had the money (and figure) I'd go for the pricier one. In case I busted out of it. Wardrobe malfunction! hehe

I would do the arden b dress. The HL is stunning, but there are a lot more things I'd spend 1150 on...can you say Balenciaga?? LOL

Either one will make a women's body look like hotness! I'll take the cheaper version! xo

I gravitate towards the Herve Leger version!

Love the Arden B dress. Love the colour too.

Grace said...

I've actually always that Arden B.'s bandage dresses were really similar to Herve Leger's. And I think I'd like it in black, so all the more reason to go for Arden's.

Unknown said...

Wow that is some dress!! I love the blue but not for $1,150!! Hope you're having a great week!

Clare said...

Gorgeous! I actually like the pink one better!!

molly said...

I can't believe it could be sooo expensive. Wow.

While I do adore the color and center vertical seam of the Herve Leger, the Arden B is definitely more fitting with my budget.

RYC: I've checked ebay, and so far I'm seeing pre-orders and marked-up bottles of the shatter polish. Sad times.

oooh la la..Wish I could pull something off like that.

If I had a place to wear this dress, I'd choose the Herve Leger!

I vote for the first clothes, because it makes one slim. :)

They're both a little too tight for me! :)

These are so sexy Erika! I WAS going to choose the Herve Leger one until I saw the price...geez! haha but I love the colour and fabric type! :)

If I had the body I would want a Herve Leger dress! They are the epitome of sexy.

Claire Kiefer said...

Again, amazing similarity! I like the turquoise color better, but the shape is essentially the same. I'm not one for bandage dresses, cause I like tight top/loose bottoms or loose top/tight bottoms . . . I think that contrast is prettier . . . but as far as these dresses go, I'd choose Arden B. all the way.

Style with Benefits said...

Hands down the Arden B. dress. It actually looks better on the Arden B. model too. Again, how do you find these things?!!

xx, becs

Angelica Ng said...

Here's when I choose the cheaper one. I think the Arden has better design, and for a bandage dress, I think you don't need to go all the way with Herve Leger.
