{beauty board} copper shadow

copper
Metallics have been my shadow go-to since I first started wearing makeup for their ability to juxtapose the worlds of the neutral, natural eye with that of a shimmering, glamorous gaze. While I've always reached for gold-flecked bronze colors {Urban Decay's Half-Baked Eyeshadow is my can't-live-without}; I was thrilled to see a barrage of glossy, copper colors saunter down the runway, as the shade is warm and cozy {perfect for fall}; looks chic on all eye colors and skintones; and can be worn day or night depending on how heavily or softly you apply. Here are a few of my favorite palettes and shades to help you get the copper look:

copper 2
ONE: Clarins {$42.00} TWO: Lancome in BRONZE AMOUR {$49.00} THREE: Giorgio Armani #15 COPPER / BLACK GREY {$33.00} FOUR: Kat Von D in DEVOTION {$16.00} FIVE: Laura Mercier in TERRACOTTA {$23.00} SIX: Maybelline in COPPER CHIC {$8.31}

If you want the ability to rock the copper trend and mix, match, and blend other colors to create your own custom shades, the Clarins Splendours Colour Quartet & Liner Eye Palette is perfect for you. LancĂ´me always delivers the glam, and the Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palette in Bronze Amour is no different. The colors are bold, the finishes silky, and the overall color combos essential for creating a neutral smoky eye. Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Silk Eyeshadow in #15 Copper / Black Grey is a must if you're short on time - one swipe is all you need for killer eyes.

My favorite of the bunch {and one of the most affordable options} is Kat Von D Shade Shifter Eyeshadow in Devotion, which subtly shifts color {very chameleon-like} whenever you blink or turn your head. When it comes to makeup, I love baked anything - including this Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Terracotta {also available at Beautique UK}. Apply it wet for high drama; and skip the primer if you want - this one never creases or fades. For affordability that still packs punch, you can't go wrong with Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow in Copper Chic. It's under $10, and serves up velvety textures and high pigmentation.

Ive been seeing the copper shadows EVERYWHERE. I love copper and orange (not together) shadows for blue eyes. I never believed theorange would accentuate my eyes and it made them POP. As does copper. Its perfect and you got a few great picks here.
