the silhouette of summer

Untitled #597
Throwback Thursday... style edition! As if the title of Leandra Medine's literary debut Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls hadn't tipped you off; the overalls you lived in as a child are having a moment in the fashion world. Slightly sleeker, and quite a bit chic-er than the tomboy-esque pairs you donned on the playground; these have a more grown-up feel - yet still maintain the low-key vibe we know and love them for. Here are 6 of my personal favorites:

o 1
Blank Denim Denim Overalls in Roll In The Hay {$108.00}; True Religion Erin Relaxed Overalls in Lost Paradise {$358.00}; MiH Bib & Brace Overalls in Kissing Wash {$199.50}

o 2
ONE by BLACK ORCHID Skinny Overalls in Cashmere {$174.00}; Wildfox Chloe Overalls in Memory {$255.00}; Current/Elliott The Ranchhand Overalls in Wanderer Destroy {$348.00}

My friend showed up in overalls for dinner the other day and she was just so darling I knew I needed a pair again. Cute!

I need a pair of overalls! :)

That Wildfox pair is probably my favorite- perfectly slouchy yet still chic, so it doesn't make me think too much of the overalls I wore when I was little :)

Eh this is one trend I can't deal with.

No, No, No! I see this and I die a little inside. Eventually, the overall style will transition to baggy, then with a crop top underneath, then with one strap on and one strap off. Oh, the 90s...

I actually did a post about this too, with five ways to girlify them. But I love the tom-boy look as well.
