butter LONDON Renew Pantone Color of the Year 2017 Collection Swatches + Review
A few weeks back I shared swatches of the butter LONDON Refresh Pantone Color of the Year 2017 Collection, but guess what? butter LONDON actually released two mini sets in partnership with PANTONE for 2017, and today I'm bringing you the second - also known as the Renew Pantone Color of the Year 2017 Collection. While the REFRESH collection consisted mainly of cremes {with one lone shimmer}; RENEW is mainly shimmer {with one lone creme}. Out of the two collections, I'd say that I favor this one; but I'll let you be the judge!
Fruit Dove is a Pink with Green Shimmer. Babes, there is so much visible green shimmer in the bottle of this one; but on the nail it's legit invisible. And the so-called pink? Not here ladies - this is 100% deep mauve. Despite being vastly different than what I was expecting, I'll be honest: I absolutely love this shade. Though not a bright, it reminds me so much of a berry smoothie, and who doesn't love that for summer?! Formula was fabulous - it feels a bit like a texture polish when you apply it, so it dries fast; but, it's easy to even it out. This is 2 coats.
Sheepskin is a Nude Creme. Getting right to the point: this color is weird. Though described as a nude creme, in the bottle I thought it leaned yellow, so I didn't really know what to expect; then I applied it to the nail and discovered that it is a nude creme. But a weird nude. A foundation nude, if you will. The type of nude that would actually look pretty in the form of clip in hair extensions; but doesn't translate well in the nail department. Truthfully, this color does not work for me; but I could see where it kinda sorta maybe would look okay on someone with a darker skintone. Bizarre color aside, the formula here was fab, falling just shy of one coat wonder territory. This is 2 coats.
Rose Gold is a Shimmering Bronze. I'm not really sure why they called this one Rose Gold, because it is a bronze-y copperall the way, and I absolutely adore it. I mean, who doesn't dig bronze evvvvverything for summer, amiright?! This one is super thin/sheer on coat one, but builds up to a beautiful opaque shimmer-fest with an extra swipe. Loving this baby! This is 2 coats.
Moss is a Shimmering Warm Green. Truth: Based on how the color looked in the bottle, I wasn't super excited to try Moss on for size; but it actually looks far better on the nail. Not repeat-wear better; but not horrible either. IMO Moss would be best described as a peridot shimmer due to the golden/yellow undertones, which sound pretty, but read as murky on the nail. The formula here was good. Considering this is a v light shade, I didn't expect it to build to opacity so quickly; but it did. My main frustration is how sheer it is at the tip. I've found that shimmers {especially light ones} have a tendency to be v translucent at the tips, but it still bugs me. My second frustration?Staining! This one leaves a yellow stain on nails, and that is so not okay. Out of the entire collection, this is my least favorite - I dislike it even more than Sheepskin, and that's saying something. This is 2 coats.

Sheepskin is the weirdest of all! And I'm not a great fan of the green one either.
But I absolutely loved the other two!
