OPI Brazil Collection Beach Sandies Liquid Sand Mini Set Review

As you already know, I love a liquid sand collection, so when I learned that OPI would be releasing the OPI Brazil Collection Beach Sandies Liquid Sand Mini Set for Spring / Summer 2014, getting my hands on it became a first-class priority. I mean, 4 shades inspired by sun-soaked Brazil? Sign. Me. Up. Let's take a look, yes?

Samba-dy Loves Purple is a Vibrant Fuchsia with Silver Shimmer. This is a unique one. It's not purple - or violet, pink, or red - yet manages to be a blend of all four. Told you it was unique! Samba-dy Loves Purple was incredibly sheer and almost jelly-like on coat one, then surprised me by going seriously opaque on coat two. This shade is definitely bright; but it's far more subdued than the other colors in this collection {it's a subtle brightness as opposed to being inyoface bright}. This is 2 coats.

I'm Brazil Nuts Over You is a Bright Coral Pink with Purple Shimmer. Now that's what I'm talking about! I'm Brazil Nuts Over You is one of those rare polishes actually worthy of the word Caliente! The coral pink color itself is on fire; but add in the purple shimmer and it is just mind-blowing. The formula here was very similar to What's a Little Rain Forest? in that it was the perfect consistency, and very easy to reach opacity. This may just be the color of the summer! This is 2 coats.

What's a Little Rain Forest? is a Bright Blue with Turquoise Undertones. This. Color. Is. Brilliant! I'm never one to ignore a blue lacquer; but this one is even more spectacular than most due to the cerulean blue shade coupled with the shimmer running throughout. It's totally reminiscent of swimming pools and tropical destinations - in other words...the epitome of summer. What's a Little Rain Forest? has an excellent formula. It's super smooth and very easy to work with; plus...it dries sparkly {and no one can resist that}. This is 2 coats.

You're So Flippy Floppy is a Bright Canary Yellow. You already know about my aversion to yellow polishes; so it should come as no surprise that, while I liked the texture here, I wasn't a huge fan of the color. Nevertheless, it is so perfect for summer. While What's a Little Rain Forest? and I'm Brazil Nuts Over You dried sparkly; the shimmer in You're So Flippy Floppy is less discernible {though it is there in certain light}. The formula here was thick, but very easy to work with. As someone with longer nails I found that I had to keep layering the polish on to get rid of VNL; however, if you have shorter nails, you can likely get away with two coats. This is 4 coats.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I love this collection! I feel as if it so perfectly captures the brilliance of Brazil while being the perfect range of colors for summer-summer-summertime. Even better...the ultra long wear-time makes them ideal for vacations, as they literally do. not. chip. Like ever.

While the rest of the Brazil Nail Lacquer Collection is available in full-size bottles; these 4 shades have been fashioned exclusively in this limited edition mini set. This isn't a factor that bothers me, as I prefer mini bottles, but it may bother some, as the brush is smaller to work with.

So necessary for Summer 2014.

What do you think of this collection?
