April showers bring...May covets! Here are my faves for the month!

1. denim overalls I lived in denim overalls during my childhood tomboy days, so I was apprehensive to embrace them in all their revamped, modern glory; but...I've officially been won over. I love how sleek and chic they look when paired with a chunky heel or skin-toned mule; not to mention the new slim, tapered aesthetics that feel fashion-y as opposed to frumpy. My top picks are Wildfox's 'Chloe' Destroyed Overalls in Memory for the cream-colored straps {which give a subtle nod to Urkel's trademark suspenders}, BLANKNYC's 'Dandy Lion' Tapered Denim Overalls in Dandellion, and SP Black's Distressed Denim Short Overalls {Juniors} in Light Wash.

2. vacay makeup New beauty products are my kryptonite - especially when they have the power to make you feel as if you're about to hop a plane to some tropical destination. In other words...vacay makeup. My two current faves are TARTE's Golden Days & Sultry Nights Amazonian Clay Collector's Shadow Palette, and Too Faced's Bonjour Soleil Limited Edition Summer Bronzing Wardrobe. The former for its super stunning shadow shades {and names - Caipirnha Cocktails anyone?}; the latter for the multitude of sun-kissed looks you can create for any occasion {Kiss of the Riviera, St. Tropez Soleil, or Parisian Glow}. Brilliant, yes?

3. statement jewelry Gold jewelry is the Robin to summer's Batman; and when it makes a statement? All the better! Right now I'm loving the Hang with Me Earrings, and Keep it Together Bracelet Ring - both of which are from mark's Saint Barts Collection. The chain detailing adds just the right amount of eye-catching edge without being too OTT; while the gold color serves as the perfect match for beach bronzed skin.

4. deborah lippmann summer My number one reason for digging Lippmann's Summer Nail Collection has more to do with the inspiration behind it than it does the colors {but I love both}. Each shade name is a throwback to the music and movies that reigned supreme in the 80s. Ain't no way to resist that! My musts are Flash Dance {what a feeling...!}, and She Drives Me Crazy {because teal polish is. a. must.}.

5. wedge sneakers I'm about 2 years late to the wedge sneaker party; but I've gotten more into different elements of dance lately, which has definitely taken a toll on my personal style - both in the studio and on the street. You slip them on and feel as if you've just stepped out of a scene from Step Up 2: The Streets {because it's possible to dance in these}; yet you don't have to give up the height that your beloved heels provide. Win / win, yes? My recent buys have been Ash's Bowie Wedge Sneakers in Clay, and Nike's 'Dunk Sky Hi' Wedge Sneaker in Black / Anthracite / Grey / Black.
