shades of ursula {e.l.f. disney villains 12 piece nail polish collection swatches + review}

I wanted to be Ariel as a child. I even had the swimming Ariel bath toy who flipped her fins among a sea of bubbles during each bathtime - and though her blazing hair eventually became a tangled mess from water damage, she was still a favorite. Perhaps that's why I saved the Ursula Trio for last {the best and all that}. After all, I could have covered it first, but instead I've shown you Maleficent, The Evil Queen {of Snow White fame}, and Cruella de Vil; so today I bring you the final installment of the e.l.f. Disney Villains 12 Piece Nail Polish Collection, the Sea Witch herself: Miss Ursula.

clockwise from top left: Sea Escape; Coral Dream; Mint Cream.

Coral Dream is a Peachy Coral Creme. This is my favorite type of coral - one with peach undertones as opposed to red. Coral Dream should definitely be on your radar for spring/summer as it is perfect for bikini season. Despite the fact that the color was very saturated, I found that it was a bit patchy; thus, requiring multiple coats. Not a deal-breaker, however, as the formula was v nice to work with. {This shade is also available in the e.l.f. Essential 3-Piece Nail Polish Set in Beach Party #3811 and the e.l.f. Essential Beauty School 4-Piece Nail Polish Set}. This is 3 coats.

Mint Cream is a Mint Green Creme {duh!}. I'm a self-professed mint polish lover {you all already know that!}, but this color just didn't do it for me - and I blame myself. I find that it was far too muted/greyed out to satisfy my mint craving; but an extra coat may have done the trick {my bad!}. Still a great shade with a great formula, but I def recommend using 3 coats to get brighter results! {This shade is also available in the e.l.f. Essential 3-Piece Nail Polish Set in Vacation Trio #3809 and the e.l.f. Essential Holiday 5 Piece Nail Cylinder #71495}. This is 2 coats.

Sea Escape is a Black Creme with Teal Microshimmer. In direct sunlight, you can see that killer Sea Witch vibe, then you enter the shadows {that sounds so sinister} and it's basically black with a blink-and-you'll-miss-it teal shimmer {reminiscent of the blink-and-you'll-miss-it blue shimmer of Essie's Spun In Luxe I told you about last month}. The formula was a bit funky on this one - patchy and quite thin {both v surprising considering how dark the color is}; but not unmanageable. This is 2 coats.

AVAILABILITY: This particular set was a 2013 Limited Edition; however, you can buy the bottles individually for $2.00 each here - as well as in a few multi-pack sets that I've linked above.

You always find the best nail polishes! And I have to say I have some serious cuticle envy! I'm excited to see Lauren Conrad's Cindarella collection at Kohl's. I saw a few items the other day online and they were simply adorable and fabulous all at the same time.
