I'm not gonna lie, I bought NYX Cosmetics' Butter Gloss in the shade Sunday Mimosa {$4.99} because I liked the name of the color. Unfortunately, that was not a good idea, because I found the color to be too dark for my fair skintone. That said, after a bit of trial and error, I was able to get it to work for me to an extent. Sunday Mimosa is a bright pink-leaning coral with a v strong color payoff that felt too loud for my preference; however, when I applied 3 dabs of it to my lower lip, then used my ring finger to smooth it out, the color was more muted and wearable. I love how moisturizing and long-wearing NYX's Butter Glosses are; you just need to be careful with the colors you select. DEFINITE RE-BUY {in a different shade}.
I feel like everyone is always raving about FRESH's Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment {$26.00}, so I was super excited to receive a deluxe sample of it for my birthday; but I wasn't in love. Don't get me wrong, it is ridiculously hydrating and moisturizing, and really makes my lips feel fantastic; however, I found that the formula was a bit too soft in the tube, causing the stick to break repeatedly. Additionally, the overall result was nearly identical to what I achieve with NIVEA's Kiss Of Care & Color Sheer, and since that retails for just $4.99, I think I'll stick with that. NOT a re-buy.
While I haven't been a fan of Marc Jacobs lotions in the past, when I received a deluxe sample of Marc Jacobs Fragrances Daisy Dream Luminous Body Lotion {$45.00}; but, like the last one I tried, I'm just not a fan. Admittedly, Daisy Dream seemed slightly thicker in texture, which was my biggest qualm about Daisy; but it still felt too runny IMO, and that's never a good feeling when we're talking lotions. Fragrance-wise this one was a winner, being v light and airy; but it wasn't enough to prompt a future purchase. NOT a re-buy.
I absolutely live for glosses that add radiance to your entire face, and JULEP Lip Gloss Sheer Moisturizing Gloss in POLISHED {$20.00} is tops for that effect. Ladies, I seriouslyseriously love this shade {and formula}. Polished is a super pale peachy pink meets nude that adds just a hint of color coupled with a whole lot of shine. It has a slightly tacky feeling when applied to lips, which I actually don't mind, because it stays in place for up to 4 hours {even if you're eating or drinking. My issue with it is the price. I find $20.00 to be an outrageous amount for the size of the tube - especially in comparison with the asking price of higher-end glosses. DEFINITE RE-BUY {when on sale}.
Have you tried any of these products before? Thoughts?
