What if...?

“Come over to the dark side…we have candy.”
Unknown

What if…you lived in a land made up of candy?

Seas of gray, and blacks as dark as the midnight sky would not be permitted within my land of candy; pastels and brights would be the only colors embraced, given the fact that shades such as this would complement the sweets budding all around us so well. My ensemble du jour, adhering precisely to these specifications, would be Alice + Olivia’s Lexi Strapless Dress with Belt. Each morning, as the sun creeps into the pale blue sky, yellow rays dancing upon my feather-soft bed, I would turn my head and daintily bite off a piece of my pristine white pillow – crafted out of true marshmallows, mind you – indulging in my very first sugar rush of the day…the one guaranteed to get me out of bed and moving.

Unlike lands constructed out of ordinary brick and mortar; the land of candy is a unique location. Trees would be made of cotton candy in a wide variety of colors; flowers budding from the earthy, crushed Oreo-cookie soil would bloom in the form of lollipops; creepy crawlies would not be slimy or slippery – rather, they would be made out of squishy gummy materials; pools, lakes, rivers, and oceans would be full not of water but of sticky strawberry syrup; and raindrops would take on the form of gumdrops on gloomy days. The best part, however, does not fall upon the beauty of such a place; that honor is attributed to the taste…for each and every part of the land of candy is edible.

What would life be like for you if you lived in a land made up of candy? What would your surroundings look like? What would the style rules be? Don’t keep me waiting a moment longer, my loves; I must know!

Fashionably yours!

And this is why I always had a strange fascination with Willy Wonka...it's just too amazing to not think about!

I would love to live in a land made of candy provided that the candies there are fat-free and sugar-free. Then I will be one happy camper. I love sweets and to be surrounded by unlimited supply is heaven for me. I will dress in bright colored frocks everyday. Everybody should wear colors, no black outfits allowed. Hahaha! Look at me talking, well, it's a candyland and color is the order of the day. :-)

Happy Sunday Erika! xoxo

Oh yum. I love the visual you gave here. I second the motion for oreo dirt. Oh how I love them. I think I would like to have some sort of rain in my candy land.... but what candy is soft enough to fall from the sky? And you don't want soda or something because it'd make you sticky. I dunno.

Well, seeing as how it's 9:20 in the morning and I just finished a bag of sour patch kids, this imagined land seems pretty dreamy to me. :) Mine would be full of twizzlers, York peppermint patties, and reeses pieces, though there's very little candy that doesn't make me a happy girl. :)

I love this post! Candy Land was my favorite game. I loved the chocolate part especially. You imagination needs you to write a book.

i dont think i would really have any rules. basically do what you want and enjoy life, but of course no stealing of anyone else's candy. fashion would definitely be very colorful. i would want the candy to be healthy and great tasting so you can eat all you want and not get fat.

Well since I'm in one of those insane chocolate craving moods... My candy land would be made entirely out of different flavors of chocolate! My house -cough- huge castle -cough- would be made out of milk chocolate that instantly replaces itself when I take a bite from the walls! Haha
Though the roads would be dark chocolate and super strong because I'll be about a million pounds since all I'd do every day is just reach out eat a ton of chocolate! haha

Awww, I would love to live in a candy land especially this little tot Mr.Freddy. Every time he hears ''candy'' he gets crazy. LOL!

Oooh love the idea of crushed Oreos as the soil! I like the cookie part much more than the cream :). My candy world would be made up of Reeses Peanut Butter cups and particular chocolates. I'm not a huge sweets person and only like certain chocolates. This idea makes me smile :)! Hope you had a great weekend! xo, mel

I'm not a huge candy fan but I loveee chocolate so I think my world would be full of chocolate pools and fountains and ladies would wear bright candy colored dresss while the gents wore candy cane striped bow ties :) Oh how fun!

Oh, I think I want cherry twizzlers for weeds..just for starters.

That is such an amazing dress.

Love the image you used in this post! As I grow older, I find myself liking sweet things less and less so I probably wouldn't want to live in a candy land haha, but if I could live in a land of sushi and dim sum that would be heaven!

first of all, love how whimsical that picture is! I have a terrible sweet tooth-- im imagining a candy lasd filled with lots of twizzlers and caramel. mmm hungry now!

dress code: adorable dresses ONLY

i would have a bed made of marshmallow and chocolate tiles would be my floor. gummy worms line my walls and godiva chocolates lie aimlessly around. the kitchen is room filled with gelato :)

Romany said...

I'm not really a candy person (although those gumdrop-raindrops sound pretty damn tasty), so my world would probably look more like that little choco-land fantasy Homer has in that episode of the Simpsons. Don't reckon I'd last long though - I'd probably keel over after half a day. Haha!
Cute, cute post! The dress compliments your candy land perfectly.

Oh, I think you could pull me to the dark side so easily... My land of candy would have to consist mostly of chocolate because that's my favourite, favourite sweet. Wishing you lovely candy dreams and a good week, Erika!

A land made of candy? How fun would that be?! Although, I would probably eat too much. :) That Alice + Olivia dress would be perfect for a real life candy land.

Maddy said...

A land of candy??! I would have tons of cavities, that's for sure! I had the pleasure of visiting FAO Schwarz this weekend for the first time since I was a kid! It felt like I had received the "golden ticket" and went to Willy Wonka heaven! Candy, toys, stuffed animals everywhere! The trip was meant for my niece and nephews, but I think I enjoyed it even more than they did!

Keith said...

Hey there. Cool post. I'd love to live in a world of candy. The only problem is that I'd weigh more than I already do. lol

I'd spend the day lazily drifting down a golden caramel river and soaking up jawbreaker rays while pondering what my next meal (hosted with a group of Gummy Bears) would consist of...Fruity Stripe gum for an appetizer, Snickers for the entree (because it satisfies,) and giant lollipops for dessert. All with no dental bills, of course!

Kim Jackson said...

Oh my goodness, I would be sick with gluttony. It would rain skittles and the sidewalk would be made of giant Starbursts. And we would have to be twins because that A + O dress is to die for! Sweet and dreamy....
