{beauty board} coral crush

coral
Blush is one of those beauty products that is typically used sparingly - a barely-there, whisper-thin layer dancing across the hollow of the cheek, and moving up towards the temple - to add a perfect, subtle flush to the face; but one of the things I love most for spring {which was perfectly represented at Dolce & Gabbana}? Coral cheeks. It's slightly punchier than your standard pink; but looks incredibly romantic when paired with a tight cat-eye and peachy-nude lips. Here are 5 of my favorite products for achieving the perfect spring-to-summer coral cheek:

coral 2
ONE: Maybelline in CORAL SHEEN {$7.49} TWO: DIOR in 676 CORAL CRUISE {$42.00} THREE: Josie Maran in CORAL {$22.00} FOUR: NARS in TORRID {$30.00} FIVE: Maybelline in CANDY CORAL {$7.99}

Cream blushes are perfect if you haven't had success with powder blushes; or you have dry skin or fine lines. Powder blushes tend to settle into the aforementioned; whereas cream blushes do not {thus, highly recommended}. I love Maybelline Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick in Coral Sheen because it is super pigmented and blends easily; not to mention that it reminds me quite a bit of NARS' The Multiple in Portofino {at a far more affordable price}. Coral Sheen does have visible shimmer; so if you're not a shimmer fan, opt instead for Josie Maran's Argan Color Stick in Coral - which features all of the amazing things found in Maybelline's Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick sans shimmer.

DIOR DiorBlush Vibrant Color Powder Blush in 676 Coral Cruise is one of the best everyday blushes I have encountered in a long time - it's very pigmented yet incredibly thin, so you wind up with a gorgeous, lightweight flush. If you're not a makeup brush hoarder, this is a great choice because it actually includes an angled brush that is fantastic for contouring. NARS Blush in Torrid is similar to 676 Coral Cruise; however, it contains very finely milled gold shimmer that adds a luminous finish. Personally, I love a hint of shimmer; but I know it's not everyone's favorite, so...

Like the cream blushes mentioned above, Maybelline's Dream Bouncy Blush in Candy Coral is an amazing choice if you have dry skin or fine lines; plus it is one of the most awesome products on the market - reminiscent of Memory Foam in that, once you touch it, it retains the shape of your touch. Anyway...This product works best when applied with your fingers - using your ring finger or pinky to blend. If you want a truly natural-looking coral flush this is a must.

I would love to try out a coral blush, I wonder if it would suit all skin tones, these look like beautiful vivid shades. Thanks for sharing your opinion with me on your last post.

Many moons ago I used to be a coral girl but I've been a pink blush person for at least the last ten years...Now I want to go back! Thanks for the inspiration!

I hardly see Asian models on blogs, so when I do I just go crazy because I realize how good certain make-up trends can look on me. Sorry to bring race into the conversation, but this has got me all excited!
