♥The Future is Now I used to abhor those activities in school in which the teachers forced us to write letters to our future selves…those obnoxious little notes which made us cringe as we carefully tore open the envelopes covered in scrawls scribbled with Crayola crayons harboring kitschy color titles years later. Mine was adorned with vampire felines who more resembled aliens penned in Sea Green – my favorite color for the first nine years of life. I’m almost positive that my letter consisted of talk about wanting a dog and such – the typical musings of a six-year-old. Now, I’m sure that my thoughts would be much more understandable – perhaps even achievable. Thus, I find myself wanting to do it again via FutureMe. This time around is sure to be different. For one, the dowdy Mrs. Jacobsen is not forcing me to take part in this particular exercise; and two, I don’t have to feel embarrassed by handwriting or ridiculous scrawls – all that’s required is a few minutes of typing thoughts about what my future holds, choose a date for my letter to be mailed back (do you think the year 2059 is too far away?), click send, and Voila! Once the specified date arrives, my petite note will find its way back to me. I’ll admit I find the whole thing slightly scary; but it piques my interest nonetheless. What would you say to your future self?
♥Le Colonel, S’il Vous Plait Let’s be straight, mes chéris; it is not in my nature to ignore the type of grandiose glamour put forth in the gritty days of old-time noir excess and decadence. Such refinement; such elegance; such delicate crafting should never be cast aside, or go unnoticed. It should be devoured in the same fashion as cupcakes saturated with rainbow sprinkles. And if Le Colonel has any say in the matter, it most certainly will. Please remove all thoughts from your growling tummies kittens; Le Colonel is not the fried chicken wielding, mustached gentleman currently being pictured in your mind’s eye. Le Colonel is, in fact, the Jazz Age loving Julia, a French designer who weaves vintage hairpieces bound to make even Blair Waldorf weak in the knees. While previously collections have channeled the Roaring 20s popularized by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Julia’s current creations are more for the fashionable girl about town. There’s the chocolate brown Bucarest with crimson detailing that would look marvelous with a powerful red coat; the coquettish ambiance of the cabaret-inspired Vienne; even Varna, a black and red beauty trimmed in sophisticated beads. Quite simply, everything by Le Colonel is frippery at its finest; and every girl deserves a bit of that in her life!

Oh lovely! I feel like I should email myself now, I'm at a good (relatively!) place and Future Me might forget certain things!!!
I love your smitten Saturdays! And I especially love those hair pieces! I had to write a letter to myself in grade 12 and open it in ten years or something, but I have no clue where it is!
Great post! I love the Jail House Rock look. You a re a great writer! It's always a delight!
I was smitten with red lips this week. A lot of the bloggers are wearing bright red lipstick. I can never find a shade that doesn't make me look like a clown! I wish I could help you in the eyeshadow dept, but I never wear any! I still love bats!

Is there an easy way to apply eyeliner? I've tried it before (liquid eye liner) but I don't have a steady hand.
Thank you soo much for posting a comment on my blog. And you are welcome, I enjoyed posting a comment for you. :D
Have a great weekend! :D
Your Saturday posts are such a treat, darling!
Love that sequined dress from lulus ~ great find!

Lovely post! I'm with you on the jail... I guess as human beings we adopt to almost anything but the thought is frightful to me also. Best never to break any laws!!♥ Also, your childhood fascination with bats is adorable. :) I can just imagine your parents reaction. Too cute.
-I just recently started experimenting with eyeshadow and I agree its intimidating! So far I have mastered: light color on lid, dark color on crease, more towards outer corners. and I also created a daytime friendly cat eye with dark brown shadow using a pointed brush.
I'm pretty sure its all about the brush, for cheapies try HIP by L'oreal. There is always the light and dark combo.
- As for that black and white sequined dress, I LOVE.
-The Future, scary and I'm definitely trying it!
-Oh and the red lips... I have big Angelina lips so I stay away in fear of looking like a hooker. :)
-GREAT POST
I am smitten with coats. I am looking for the ideal one!

i have yet to master the smoky eye as well. I stick with mascara and that's pretty much it. I love that thing about writing a letter to your future self..how awesome!
Ahh, I would totally go for a smokey kit just because you have so many different combinations to play with :) I need to find the perfect red lip for my Halloween costume, though!
And that idea of FutureMe is too cute ... I'd love to send myself memories that I'm sure to forget down the road.
Lovely list and I hope you have an amazing weekend, girl :)
Guess who's ordering the Lulu's sequin frock? And guess who has two thumbs and loves her some Erika? This girl!
awesome list! u should definitely experiment with red lips, something about them is so enticing and adds tons of glamour. i'm not afraid to admit that i still write letters to my future self. it's just my way of getting my thoughts and goals down on paper so i can reflect later on in life. hope u enjoy the rest of your weekend!
the first image is so relaxing, i need that this weekend. have good one my dear.
I think I'd rather have my future self tell me something haha
Don't worry all of us gals have problems with some part of the makeup regime. I hate the lips I can never get mine to not be to pinkish red. It doesn't matter what I use it is hopeless. So, good luck gal with yours. :)
Those Help Remedies are adorable and so convienient! I hate the telltale pill-jangling sound if I have a bottle of tylenol in my bag - I feel like such an addict!
I have yet to try the red lips myself, too intimidating...
I am smitten with Godiva hot chocolate this week, perfect for freezing weather :)
I completely agree with you. I love the Ideas of red lips but I just can't seem to choose it over my mascara and eyeliner at any given point of time. Great post! :)
Xx
yeah, i love the first photo too, si chic and the outfit is really pretty. made me think if it's an overall or pants and a top?
An email to the future sounds so much fun!
And I definitely agree about smokey eyes. I prefer to have smokey eyes with nude lips insteasd of the other way round.
i love the first photo! =)
i love wearing red lipstick :) the shade i use is the Candied Apple from Maybelline. it stays on for the longest time :)
Great post as usual!
Lovely post! + well, you loved bats. How about me loving bones, watching them for several hours? Creepy, I know. Sad to say, but I'm still in love with them. My gosh.
