Why Don't You...?

…slip on a pair of pretty bow-adorned Kennett Gloves and indulge in a good old-fashioned snowball fight? Up the ante by making a cute boy you’ve been crushing on your prime target; he’ll never know what hit him!

…temporarily remove yourself from the real world and be lazy for an afternoon? Embrace the words of The Jungle Book’s Baloo and "…forget about your worries and your strife…". Toss on a C&C California Luxe Fleece Top, microwave a bag of popcorn (I like to mix mine with M&M’s!), pop How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days into your DVD player, curl up under a Garnet Hill Cable-Knit Throw, and fully and completely unwind.

…accidentally-on-purpose get lost exploring newfound treasures within your very own town? Shimmy into shops you’ve never set foot in before, soak up unspoiled sights by taking a different route to school or work, attend a local festival. Who said you have to board a plane to experience something new and exciting? Simply play tourist a stone’s throw away from your humble abode!

…turn your backyard, deck, or neighborhood park into your own personal paradise? Play the role of Coco Chanel by glamming it up via a floppy hat sitting askew atop your head, dark sunglasses covering your smoldering eyes, and a feminine pendant necklace harboring a hint of good luck clasped around your throat. Allow Madeleine L’Engle’s Camilla and a tall glass of pink lemonade to accompany you for a truly luxurious day of lounging.

…play the role of haute hostess? Tie Jessie Steele’s Half Ava Retro Cherries Apron around your waist, slick your hair back into a chic chignon, and invite a handful of your gorgeous gal pals over for a Sunday brunch complete with a Baked French Toast Casserole, Gingerbread Waffles, and a heaping plate of girl talk! Don’t allow your lack of expertise in the kitchen to stand in the way of you and a good time kitty cats; simply order in – I won’t tell a soul!

Fashionably yours!

Wish I could do all those things...but I don't have any snow, and if I did I think my boyfriend would be confused as to way I was attacking cute boys when I already have him. It's also raining...but curling up on the coach sounds do-able although I prefer Narnia to MattM

You always have the best suggestions. I seriously want to leave work right now and do ALL these things! :)

I quite fancy myself as a Coco Chanel figure - all black, moody and mysterious. Maybe with a cigarette, even though I don't smoke. And I'd be flippant and stand offish with everyone.

Yes! I'm doing this! :)

These all sound lovely. I've been meaning to read Camilla for a while now. I loved A Wrinkle in Time and the other books she wrote about those characters.

When was the last time I had a snowball fight??? Oh I'd love to! I remember being in grade 7 and 8 and getting butterflies in the stomach whipping snow and having snow whipped at me by my boy crush. Good times.
Is it wrong that I hate The Jungle Book’s Baloo? Don't hate me but that dopey bear gets on my nerves.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this, except for the snowball thing. Lol, in HS i lived at an all boys prep school (weird, I know)but every time it snowed and I had to exit my house, the boys would literally pummel me with snowballs. It was sad. lol, so I don't like snow ball fights :)

Love this! I do look at old magazines from time to time and mostly it makes me cringe but I always find an old trend that I really like and bring it back in some way.

I often get lost in my own town. There are many small shops and boutiques that offer a nice break from the crowds of Boston...

These posts are so fabulous!! I think I might just have to curl up, with a big bag of popcorn and watch a DVD.

And you're idea of exploring your town is amazing. I live in London and always feel that I've done everything worthwhile. Then I realise, I live in one of the most exciting cities in the world!!

I like the idea of being a tourist in your own town. Kind of like a mini-getaway without going far. Even a stroll down Main Street, stopping in the shops, can take us away for awhile :)

What an inspired and original list to enliven the somewhat dull January days! I am especially partial to curling up with that throw. As always, your post was a bright spot in my day :)

I really love all your proposals!! However they look like a real dream to me. I don´t think I would have the time to do most of them. Life goes so fast and my 24 hours are filled already with activity... I dream that one day... I will have spare time. ;)

This almost made me cry a little... specifically, the part about flipping through your old fashion mags. Truth is, I always throw them out when I'm done with them - no choice as I unfortunately live in a smallish NYC apartment. Although I KNOW how delightful it is to sit down with them one or two years later, and reminisce.... :)
